TeaParty ~ Honoring Ms. Sophie Mae

You are cordially invited to an afternoon dessert tea party

honoring Ms. Sophie Mae

on the birth of her new grand-daughter

Miss Gracie Lynn

Monday, September 10

2 o'clock

at theVintageNest

Take a breath from today's busy world and join me in the hospitality and civility of a tea party. The tea party is in honor of a very fine lady by the name of Sophie Mae on the birth of her beautiful baby grand-daughter, Gracie Lynn. Calm conversation over fine bone china, etched with delicate pink roses, sweet vintage ceramic baby shoes, delicate old crochet lace, miniature roses, and pink sweet treats, and preceded by elegant written invitations to a few intimate friends.

A centerpiece of deep pink miniatures roses wrapped in a delicate old embroidered doily is surrounded by sweet confections of pink and white cupcakes with extra sprinkles and flanked by tall elegant old candlesticks.

Delicate vintage gold trimmed plates and cups, etched with soft pink roses , just wait to be filled with tempting sweet pink treats. Wonderful old linen tea napkins side with tiny vintage baby spoons, here used as our tea stirrers.

Adorable vintage ceramic baby shoes add whimsical touches to the table setting and sweetly embroidered old pillowcases made such a pretty runner.

"I am so honored that you came to my virtual tea party along with the ladies at
MMP and others. Take a peek in the boutique and you may find some pretties from the tea party. Here is a recipe for Company Tea, as I like to call it. I have lots of mint in my garden and it comes in handy for this recipe. May you have a wonderful day and week."

Citrus-Mint Tea Cooler

1 cup boiling water
3 regular size tea bags
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 fresh lemon juice
2 cups water

Pour boiling water over tea bags and mint leaves. Cover and steep for five minutes. Strain. Discard mint and tea bags. Stir in sugar and next 3 ingredients. Serve over ice. Yield: 1 quart

Lynn, what a beautiful tea! We didn't actually have much at all at thewhatifwomen at blogspot. Being a graphic designer I decided at least I could leave a printable tea bookmark for everyone! So if you have a chance to stop back, please help yourself. My prayers that your brother-in-law is continuing to do much better.
