Welcome

Oh My! Where in the world are my Southern manners? I just realized I did not greet my sweet tea party guests in a gracious and friendly manner at the front door, so let me do that today. In the process I also thought I could combine it with a "Mixing Old and New" post. Just beyond the front porch is a wonderful bicycle fitted with baskets. It was a Christmas gift from my DH last year and I just love it. This past spring I filled it with pink and white impatiens and coleus and some kind of trailing vine. I have enjoyed it so much this summer. On the front porch is a standing birdhouse that we made from old pasture fencing, old tin ceiling tile, and a post that came from a renovated Hardee's hamburger joint. Couldn't paint it any other color than pink and white of course. The little cherub on the front porch of the birdhouse I picked up at a yard sale. The welcome sign I made from a modeling compound called Delight. It's my rendition of crumbling plaster and roses. I found the metal love seat at an antique shop. It has a glass topped table between the seats and even a place to store an umbrella. That's hidden behind the flowers. The little faux zebra rain boots I found at a yard sale and the pink and green watering can was a Walmart buy. Now my dear guest won't you come in?
