Wet Paint

Warning! The photo you are about to see is totally untouched....no makeup, barefoot, dirty, sweaty and paint splotched tattered clothes. This blog is about Life at Cedarhill and what goes on. Today, it was painting the front porch. I have to do this every year. I should have done it in the Spring but somehow never got around to it but now with the wedding about to happen it had to be done. Actually, I enjoy painting. (No...I can't come paint your house) I get into a rhythm and get to thinking about other things and pretty soon the job is done. It was a beautiful day here today and while painting I just listened to all the birds chirping away and watched the squirrels playing in the old walnut tree. The hardest thing about painting the porch was learning how to use the timer on the camera to take these photos. You should have seen the ones I didn't post. LOL.....really, really bad.

Looks like you are having a great time. I have lots of painting that needs to be done if you need more work lol.

Hi Lynn!

Wow, wouldn't that be great to meet?? I would love to meet with Roxie, then drive on to Cary and meet with you and Joyce. How great that would be! Maybe someday when we all have that special day that coincides with each other...lol! That is no doubt in my dream world.
Pssst.. I love the fact that you're working in bare feet! I do that all the time! lol. You look like a pro handling a paint brush and I should know, I painted houses for over 20 yrs.!
Good job on the porch and the delay on your camera (that's a great shot of you)~

Lynn, you make it sound so peaceful! What a positive out look! I need to paint our porch so bad! I havent in the five years we have lived in this house! Pretty sad, huh? Wonderful picture!

You're smarter than me. I would have had to wait for someone to take the picture. I forget about that timer. Your knees must be sore though. There's so much arthritis in my knees I would never have gotten up. Wouldn't that be nice at the wedding??

Thanks for inspiring me, I have to paint the deck. I think I will have my handy husband do it, though, and I'll just make the Chicken Spaghetti!

Hey Lynn, never thought I would agree with you there but yes, I also have found painting to be kinda relaxing and fun. I never did like to paint walls at all, my hubby was always the one that did it. I would kind of stand around and just complain about it. : ) But when we moved in June, we had a whole week to paint all the rooms we wanted done while the house was empty. I found it relaxing and kind of zen like. You kind of get in a flow with it and want to just keep going.

Love all your photos! Love that white pumpkin in the urn.....gotta do that too.
THanks for visiting me at Creative Blogs!
I love your blog.....future feature file for sure.

We have a grey porch too. We have been using this stain that you have tinted the color you want. It looks like paint, but wears much better. I can get the name for you if needed.
