White Autumn Christmas Tree

I really dislike closing the pool because to me it signifies summer is truly over. But that's what we did today. I hate to see that ugly ol' green cover going over that beautiful aqua water. To my husband it's just another job....to me it means something totally different. I did have good luck at the yard sales this morning though. Our local high school had it's 1st annual community yard sale to benefit all the clubs at the school and it was a whopper. There were tons of vendors and lots of homemade baked goodies too. With this upcoming wedding thing at the house I needed tons and tons of fairy lights for the backyard trees. With the stores not stocking their Christmas lights yet, I figured I was going to have to buy them on line. But...nope. A lady was selling boxes of them and I got way more than enough for my purposes, all for $2.00. I also scored a gorgeous vintage ornate silver vanity set. So I was a happy camper. I also did a little more Fall decorating. I decided I wanted to put up an Autumn tree. So I trekked out to the shed and pulled my old white Christmas tree out. Haven't used it in a couple of years and it has turned a gorgeous worn antiquey white perfect for the season. Got that done and headed outside to work on the front porch but I just can't bare to pull out the still beautifully blooming pink impatiens so I will wait a while before replacing with pumpkins and mums.

Wow Lynn! It sounds like you had a very productive day! I too hate the end of summer. It makes me so depressed! The trees here are almost all already turned colors and tonight it is very chilly outside. I want spring again!!!!

Hugs,
Amy

I really love your tree, it is so unusual.

I haven't closed my pool yet. It is still really warm here, so we will be swimming for at least a week or more. Love your blog!
