Little Red Tote

I had a chance to run up to our new wonderful farmer's market up the way to pick up my pumpkins for the season. I asked him if he was going to do a Christmas market. He said after the pumpkin season was over he was going to be selling Thanksgiving things like fresh sweet potatoes and collards. Yum...yum. My DH just loves plain baked sweet potatoes and I love fresh collard greens. After that he hoped to do holiday things such as fresh wreaths and roping. I am excited about that because I love the smell of fresh wreaths and his prices are very reasonable. He also sells all kinds of pickled relishes and jams that his wife puts up. I also did a little side trip to one of my favorite antique haunts and got this adorable old red metal tote. How cute is that? I snapped some photos of it and it's now on the website. See the straw bale in the picture?? Well ....half that straw is still in my car. :)) Guess I'll be vacuuming out my car this weekend. All summer my husband had been telling me about seeing a pair of eagles occasionally flying over the lake. We figured there was a nest somewhere high atop one of the trees but he never spotted it. I never saw the eagle until this morning. I was sitting watching the news having my cup of coffee and an eagle swooped right by the family room windows. What a sight! He was so beautiful. If only I could have gotten a photo. Happy Wednesday everyone!

I love the photos and would never thought to use the little red tool box like that. Girl when you say collards I drewl! I grew up eatting greens and cornbread. Of course in the south we have to put alittle pork in there. As for the sweet potatoes that is one thing i can say mississippi has. They grow alot of them here and park trucks just loaded down. I do like mine buttered with cinnamon and sugar on them. My mom always baked them and the next day she would take the cold ones and slice and fry in butter..yummy!

Oh Lynn, is that ever beautiful!!! It even makes me love fall! And oh I just love a Farmer's Market! I wish ours was open in the fall! You are so lucky to have seen an eagle like that! I just feel such a sense of pride when I see one. It is almost like they know they are to be respected.

Lynnn, what a pretty picture. How fun the market sounds, I wish we had one here, nothing much grows here, lol. It's off to Walmart for our pumpkins next week, but I am really having fun decorating the inside of the house for fall this year :)
