Trunk or Treat

Out here in the country most of the houses are too far off the road or too far apart for the little ones to trick or treat. So the county sponsors a Trunk or Treat at the fairgrounds. All the cars line up like a tailgate and open up their trunks for the children to get candy and other goodies. Everyone decorates their cars and there are prizes for the best "dressed" car. There is face painting, hay rides, apple dunking, and haunted houses. It's a great family night and a safe and fun way to trick or treat. Since no little pirates or princesses will show up at my house my DH and I decided to put a fun and humorous vignette at the top of the drive. Do you know how hard it was to find a pumpkin shaped like that? :)
Happy Halloween from CedarHill.

Lynn, I've seen that done a few times via emails and I always get a kick out of it. But, I never knew anyone in person to do it. And I really had to laugh at how hard it was to find a pumpkin shaped like that. I never thought about that. All this time I'm thinking easy peasy. Until it comes time to find the stinking thing, huh?

Love,
julie

That cracks me up Lynn. I have never seen anything like that before, it is so awesome. I'm trying to imagine how you rigged the pumpkin to stay where it is. : ) Good, creative work there.
