Pajama Shopping

Pajama shopping is a special skill of us rural folks. Yesterday we ventured into the city for some special shopping. I needed craft supplies to make gift tags. These fun tags are listed under the Twisted Threads page on my website. That has become my new obsession (what fun!). DH wanted to show me this coat he found that he thinks may be just the thing for his Christmas present this year. :) Well...I swanee...you'd of thought it was December 24th, there was so much traffic. We sat in a left turn lane for 10 minutes because when the arrow turned green it only let about 4 cars go through before it turned red again. Now...my DH is not a patient man so the whole time we are sitting there waiting he is fussin' and fumin'. It doesn't make for a pleasant experience. Plus I find that as we go into all the pretty stores I am tempted to buy all kinds of things I didn't know I needed to have. And then we need to stop for lunch, and later buy a special latte and a great cookie for a little more energy. And then there's the hassle of wondering where we left the car. By the time we get home we are exhausted, broke and mad at the world.
Well...that's doesn't need to happen if you live in the country. Not too long ago all those holiday catalogs began to arrive at our house. I save them up and then thumb through them while eating dinner or having my morning coffee gleefully turning down pages or ripping them out. Then eventually I make it to the computer, adjust my pajamas, and shop, shop, shop. All in one afternoon I am done and I spend half as much if I had gone to the mall. And if I need a pick-me-up cookie I just run to the kitchen. Within days, all manner of packages begin to arrive. It's like Christmas all month long. Oh....and at the top of my Christmas Wish list this year is pretty new pajamas.

Hi Lynn,
I sooo know what you mean! I love staying at home to shop. I too find that I spend more that I need when I go out and do get so stressed with the traffic and crowds....and sometimes rude sales people...

Love this photo - and the way these tags turn into ornaments. I did some too with old photos and thought they could be used as actual ornaments. :)

p.s. I LOVE getting new pj's for Christmas - that's all I really ask for year after year!

I love the idea of shopping from home without all of the hassle. But really it's the only time of the year that crowds DON'T bother me. I get so wrapped up in the Christmas spirit, I can't help it.

I love pajamas, too!

Love,
Julie

As I sit here reading your post it is 11.28am and I am still in my nightie ! loving it. LOL
I shop on-line too, waiting for the postman is such fun. My hub normally opens the door to Mr Postie as he delivers too early for me. The good thing about going shopping with Hubby is that he does carry all the bags!

Lynn,

The Tags are Beautiful :) I love staying home to shop, the traffic here is getting ridiculous already too, and I'm sure it will just get worse between now & Christmas Eve.
