Winners All Around

As I sit here having my turkey sandwich and potato chips I am reflecting on what a great Thanksgiving we had. It was a beautiful day, 75 degrees, the fall leaves just gorgeous and the groaning board overladen with all kinds of good things to eat. We traveled to pick up my Mom and she spent Thanksgiving Eve nite with us. That same day my son and his sweetie drove in from New York and on Thanksgiving Day sister and brother and wives and husbands and nephews and neighbors joined us. It was such a beautiful day we spent a lot of it outdoors. My brother and his wife sent us the most gorgeous floral fruit display I had ever seen. And a friend sent us a yummy apple cake. It was truly a winning day and I have a lot to be grateful for. On that note: ta dah!

We have a winner for the Made in Virginia give-away. Not the most sophisticated system but it works. My son drew a name from the gratitude bowl and it is................Beachy over at Beachys Cape Cod Cupboard. Congratulations. If you will leave me a comment with your address (I won't publish it) or through my website, I will have your goodies sent asap. I will be sending via FedEx 'cause it's a little heavy. Thanks to everyone who participated. It was fun for me and can't wait to do it again.

Kari & Kijsa....you know those fabulous ladies who give us so much inspiration and ideas for nesting our homes. Some time ago they hosted a give-away for the sweetest little one's growth chart and I won. They graciously sent it straight on to my grand-daughter. I finally just got the photos from my son so I could show you all how cute it was and how delightfully they wrapped it. Little miss Boo just loved it. Thank you!

Okay....guess where I am headed? Out to the shed to bring in a Christmas tree although I truly don't want to throw the pumpkin displays out. Hmmm...maybe I'll just paint the pumpkins silver and glitter them up for the holidays. :))

You know, I've always wondered why it was called a groaning board? Is it because one eats so much they groan afterward? Or is it because there's so much food on it, the table squeaks?

Not sure, myself.
