Sweet Potato Pudding & Friendship

It's been a cold and gloomy day here today.....to me...the perfect day for baking. I wish we had smell-a-blog so you all could smell the sweet potato pudding baking in my oven right now. It's heavenly! Umm...Umm Good.

Silver Bell Cottage has graciously presented me with a Friendship award today. I was honored, surprised and delighted. Thank you Alexandra. She has a delightful blog and I hope you all will pop over there to see her and her sweet kitty Milo. I would like to pass this award on to Rose at Classic Charm. I have just recently had the pleasure of meeting Rose and her terrific blog. She's warm, friendly and has such a super personality that just shines through her comments and post.

Tomorrow, Melissa, over at the Inspired Room is having an incredible event called Creative Inspiration Week. I know I need some inspiration for the holidays and I can't wait. I am going to copy and paste from her blog so you can get a better idea for all the happenings.

"Next week at The Inspired Room blog we will be seeing and hearing from around 10 incredibly creative people on what inspires them, see their creative spaces, festive holiday ideas, and more.

Things will kick off on Monday with a special Gift Wrapping Tutorial from the amazing gals Kara & Darcy at McMaster & Storm! They are generously creating ideas to share with all of you, just in time for your holiday wrapping. Hooray! You will need to comment on Monday’s post to be entered into the drawing for their generous giveaway, which is a wonderful gift wrapping kit! Here is a peek, you can go visit McMaster & Storm to see all of the photos and their invitation.

Then, for the rest of next week, we will be sharing all sorts of Creative Inspiration from other amazing women, including Kaari Meng of French General, Sandra Evertson, Lisa Tutman-Oglesby, Alicia Paulson, Vanessa Valencia, and more I will introduce to you as things get underway. Yeah, I’ll say we are in for a treat! There will be another giveaway during the week of the newest book from French General, so you’ll want to visit each day so you don’t miss out on anything!"

So let's all go over to the Inspired Room. I know Melissa has worked hard on this event and I am really looking forward to it. I hope all you sweet bloggers have a super week. ~ Lynn

You are such a dear to share this with your readers! I so appreciate you encouraging your friends to come! Not for ME, but for all the wonderful ladies who are sharing bits and pieces of inspiration with us.

Thanks and I'll see you there (I posted a bit early because we are having a bit of a windstorm here and I didn't want to risk being late for the festivities in case of power outage! Come on over whenever you can, posts will be going out all week!)

A scratch-and-sniff blog! What a great idea! :-) I vaccilate between white and colored lights, myself. Some years I only want the clean white. Other years that just seems so darn boring to me. It's my holiday schizophrenia, I suppose! I love your kitchen tree!

Sweet potato pudding sounds so yummy and so southern. We silly northerners just bake or fry (those sure are yummy) our sweet potatoes and call it a day!!

Gloomy here today with just a touch of snow and sleet and rain in the forecast...talk about gloomy>

I sure will visit Melissa as I too need inspiration for the holidays. Yesterday was one of my favorite days of the year, first of Advent. We're always light a candle each Sunday before Christmas and it was time to light the first one yesterday. A lovely tradition.
Hope you're having a good Monday.
Love Elzie

It sounds like we are all in for a wonderful week. I am so looking forward to it.
Is it ok if I put the Christmas Tour of Homes button on my blog or do I need to ask someone first? I am slowly learning a little blog rule but still uncertain of some.
