Where You Hiding Them Mom?

I'm baking, baking, baking....as I am sure most of you are. Every year I probably make six or seven different kinds of cookies along with the sausage balls and nuts, screws and bolts. But it always seems the boys and DH gravitated to the plain old chocolate chip cookies the most, so last Christmas I only made chocolate chip cookies and guess what? My youngest kept saying " come on Mom, where are the rest of the goodies....I know you are hiding them somewhere." Sooooo....I am back to baking more than just chocolate chip this year. Wedding cookies are one of my all time favorites. After looking at the photos I am sure Ms. Martha would not be happy with my sloppiness and the fact that the cookies aren't lined up nicely on the cookie sheets. :) But they taste so good.

Wedding Cookies

1 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups of finely chopped pecans

Cream butter and sugar together and then add other ingredients. Roll into small balls, place on cookie sheet and bake about 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Roll in powered sugar while still warm.

Lynn,
I see you are a busy lady...I must admit I need to start my baking... but I'm really feeling lazy about it...and can't seem to get myself going. Wish I lived nearby, then I'd come over and join ya! Your cookies look yummy, and I can almost smell them from here.
Hugs,
Rose

Lyn, I'm just now getting to you home on the tour and I enjoyed not only seeing your home but reading a little about you. Got tickled at the old black and white picture because I have so many of myself that look the same. You looked like you were holding a doll like I use to get from Santa..remember "Revlon" dolls or Madame Alexander dolls? I also love to decorate and oved your comment that said you mentally redecorate people's houses when you are there....I thought I was alone on that one!!! A fellow-mental-decorator!! Thanks for the tour and I really enjoyed myself. Blessings to you and your family.
Come over and visit me when you are in the neighborhood!

I love these cookies. My recipe is just a little different and is called Mexician Wedding Cakes. It's funny they are a favorite but the only time I make them is at Christmas time.
Loved the tag and learning some fun things about you. What are nuts, bolts and screws???. Linda

Once I was out of pecans and used walnuts in my wedding cookies...still pretty good...my most annoying part is the darned barking dogs doing Jingle Bells...put me off dogs for a long time...was so glad that mine weren't all that vocal!
Merry Christmas to you all and I'll be by for my cookies (nuts, screws, bolts and all) the day after!

Dear Lynn,

I don't know who would steal 4 cookies from that plate??? It's terrible, an outrage, someone is a little glutton.... Whoops, you say I have a little powdered sugar on my chin ~ I have no idea how that got there.... uh, I was just reading some of your other posts, really.... :)

Great recipe! Hope you and your family have a big beautiful Christmas and here's to blissful blogging in 2008!!!

Bebe :)

Um, what's that outside the window there? ... (sneaking another cookie) :)

To all of you in blog-land, although the photos look beautiful and yummy, they do not do justice to how beautiful and wonderful the food and decorations are in person.
Thank you Lynn for always creating magical moments for our family gatherings. You are an Angel who walks among us. Love you!

Kat
