Hearts & Pink Roses

I found I still had a few scragglers (is that a word?) left....some Christmas items I never managed to put away. I did that today but I couldn't bare to take down my beautiful fresh green boxwood wreath from the front door. The ladies at our church make them for sale every year. A boxwood wreath must take forever to make. It still looks so pretty so ....ta dahhhhh....I just added some sparkly hearts to it and now I have a Valentine wreath.

I also made for the boutique this gorgeous framed antique postcard. The pink winged cherub is standing in a pink rose with a heart in her hand. I just love old Victorian postcards. This one is from 1909. I used some vintage white chenille to back the card and edged it in vintage pink tatting and used some vintage crochet lace as edging on the chenille. Under glass and framed in a shabby ornate white frame. I heart the way it turned out. Have you gotten your Valentines out yet? xo Lynn

Love your Valentine pretties..yep, Valentine's decor is out but need to go to the craft store for more! I need some red candles and whatever strikes my fancy.

Let me know if you find that milk glass canister :)

How sweet the hearts look on your wreath.
I haven't got a huge valentines collection but am starting to get together some bits and pieces. I have a couple of vintage Valentines postcards that i will put somewhere as well as a few hearts.

So creative...the postcard!! And the boxwood wreath is much too lovely (and too fresh!) to take down...adding the hearts keeps it festive and seasonal! Valentine's? I've made a few cards but nothing more...working on a few swaps...but I'm s.l.o.w.!!!

I wouldn't take that wreath down either. It is just now winter here and im in no mood to rid my place of the winter things. I did a post where I did some red and some heart candle holders. I love my red bird I fixed on the table. I wish I could see many live ones, but they just haven't been here this year.
Love your framed art.

Have I told you how much I love "boxwoods?" and that includes this gorgeous wreath. Don't you just wish it could stay just the way it is all year long? Sooo pretty, and the hearts are the perfect touch. Ugh, I have snowflakes on my window...I think it's time to exchange them with my cherubs.

Love your new frame, must take a lot of patience to get it all just right. It turned out adorable.

That green boxwood wreath is just too lovely to take down.... I would leave it there until spring arrives, and then put a new one as indication of a new begining in season :) That's what I'm gonna do. My Christmas wreath is still on my door.... I'm so sick of winter!

Have a lovely day, Lynn!

Your wreath is wonderful. Every time I take down my Christmas wreath I put a basket of red roses with a heart on my door. I love vintage valentines too, and I am always making valentines with those wonderful doilies too. Blessings, Karen

Hi Lynn, beautiful valentines decorations. We LOVE Valentines Day here as well, although we don't decorate specifically for the day. Will make a nice 'heart' inspired meal and decorate the table though. Have a great day Lynn :) Jenn and Jacqui

I would LOVE to find a boxwood wreath like that. I just bought 4 small ones from Ballard Designs for my dining room chairs.
