Deena's Autumn Open House

October 15th, 2008

I am proud today to be a part of sweet Deena's Autumn Open House. Please click here to scoot over to her blog, Can I Be Pretty in Pink? for the participating bloggers. It will be fun to see how everyone is decorating for this beautiful season.

The first two photos are of a vignette in the front garden solely for my fun and pleasure, since no one comes down the lane except for the mail lady and the fed ex guy but now I get to show it to all of you. If the frost gets the impatiens soon I will replace them with pansies. My scarecrow is enjoying the bike ride. :) I won't be needing the black witch hat hanging on the fence until the end of the month when I take to the skies.

Inside I keep flowers on the table behind the sofa year round. Today the old ironstone pitcher is filled with acuba, snowballs, sage, zinnias and some blue hydrangeas from the Endless Summer variety I have. I like the blue and orange combo. The hydrangea bushes seem to love the cool Autumn weather and are putting out new flowers like crazy. The deer have left my latest blooming zinnias alone. In fact I haven't seen them since hunting season started. Weird.....do they read the newspapers and know the hunters are out?

Deena always ends her posts with the blessings she is grateful for each day and I would like to do the same today. Thank you Deena for hosting this fun day. Hugs to you. (((( ))))

Lovely bouquet, honey. I just adore fresh flowers in my home. I wish I had the talent to grow them but I have to resort to the local florist for that most of the time! ;-)

I love your fall display! Mine is more of the "scary" part of the season. I've decided next year, I'm going with elegant fall decor on the outside...I'm going to be done with the monsters, and eerie stuff...

Lynn, Your Decor is soooo Fallish and Fun. I love those fresh flowers of yours. Mine are very sad now, but I think I will go snip a teeny little bouquet to enjoy on this drizzly Missouri day! Dana

Love your outside fall display. The scarecrown on the bicycle is the best idea! Your flowers look beautiful too. I am glad the deer are staying away now.

I've been looking for white pumpkins like you have in the last shot. So pretty. And yes, I'd be so thankful for that view!

Love it all. I especially love the outside one because you make it so wonderful and no one really sees it. I am happy to have seen it.

I laughed about the witch's hat. It is known around here that October 31st is the only day of the year I DON'T have to dress up!

I love that you decorate for yourself. I used to do that too when we lived out in the middle of nowhere. It's just fun :)
