I was very lucky to inherit a bunch of the mica covered card board birds from the 1940's and 50's and I look forward to using them on my white tree every year. Another vintage holiday decoration that is very popular again today are the mica covered card board Putz houses. These little village houses had colored cellophane in the windows and doors and you would put a light inside of them to glow. Most of them today, unless they were never used, have the cellophane broken in them. I love this white one I found that has the cathedral windows and the little bottle brush tree. How cute would a whole village be under a small tree?

Another adorable find of the week is this set of porcelain Christmas bells in the original box. I am crazy about the graphics on the box and it would make a cute display item all my itself at Christmas. Each little bell has a different scene and wording on it. How sweet would these be on a table top tree for the holidays.

I have also been busy working away on one- of- a -kind holiday gift tags. I love making them and love to incorporate my antique post cards in them. Here is a set just listed in the boutique. They jingle with vintage jingle bells and have lots of bling and red satin vintage seam binding streamers for tying to your goodie bag or gift.

Okay.....this has nothing to do with Christmas but it is Red and Green. (grin) And look at the roses. Is this cute or what? A roll of vintage red roses shelf liner paper with scalloped edges. I keep thinking to myself that it would look really cute in my own kitchen glass door cabinets. It's nice because it's washable too.

Okay...that's about it for today. The voting polls will be closing here soon. It's been the gloomiest day around here, raining like cats and dogs for a good part of it and it was dark by 5 p.m. Oh yeah.....one other thing. It appears there were/are some glitches in bloggers new commenting form. I really liked the new feature but I am changing back to the old way until all the kinks are worked out. I am so sorry that some of you had trouble leaving comments. Off to fix supper now. Toodles.

I have to vote right after work today:)
Oh my these are delightful finds! I can't believe it is November let alone that Christmas is fast approaching. A gloomy election day here as well, last night was massive wind storms with some impressive rain we desperately needed. Then we awoke to SNOW on the groung this am and I have been freezing to death all day! Guess you can say it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....
Hi Lynn,
These are great finds. I can't believe Christmas is coming too. It also seems like all of the stores are rushing it in, too. I am looking forward to checking out your boutique to do some Christmas shopping.
I hope you are doing great.

We had those little houses; my brother walked to town and bought them for my mama one Christmas when I was very young. In Christmases to follow, my mama could hardly keep away from them; I loved to rearrange them and make a subdivision for Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus!
What wonderful finds. I am so not ready for Xmas. I'm trying to get in the mood and start planning!!
Love the Christmas stuff! I have one friend who is such a Christmas nut that her house is almost done being decorated for CHRISTMAS!! She is a little nuts..she is friends with me ;>) ! hehehe
I love your vintage finds, Lynn! Can you believe we already have one holiday party invite on the calendar? Yep, it'll be here before we know it!
All of your things are awesome. I love the bells. I have many little houses and every year at Christmas i put them all together on the table and make a small village. The kids love it.
Oh the vintage Christmas finds are fabulous! I can hear Bing Crosby in the background now. I am so looking forward to the Christmas season this year and stopping by here has been fun start!

Such wonderful Christmas treasures!! It is hard to believe Christmas is so close. I'm with you, first Give Thanks and then Christmas. I was driving home the other day and saw a house already decorated for Christmas, isn't that crazy.
