Bloopers and Toppers

Bloopers.....oops!!!! Mrs. Jones6 left a comment on my blog this morning and said "hope your week is off to a great start". LOL....Well....not exactly. First thing this morning I headed out to the grocery store as the Thanksgiving holiday left my cupboards bare. Coming down the lane to the house I noticed what looked like a tree had fallen on the edge of the field and the woods.....soooo I turned the car into the field to investigate. Big MISTAKE!! The field is sorta on a decline as it slopes towards the woods. The day before it had rained all day long....a steady soaking rain. Well Lynn, you dummy, your car is not a four wheel drive or even a front wheel drive and I started sliding and sliding and sliding and nearly ended up crashing into the downed tree. I turned the car off and gingerly stepped into the field.....even though it looks grassy it was a big muddy mess. I realize there is no way I am getting the car outta that field, so I grabbed a grocery bag and started toward the house. Did I mention that by now it has started to pour rain (the weather man said today would be sunny...ha!) and I had no umbrella? The car is at least 1/8 mile from the house. Eight bags of groceries later I am soaked to the skin and my car is destined to stay in the field until it dries up (the field, not the car.) At least I don't have to be anywhere pressing for the next couple of days. What did Bobby G. say? He knew better than to say anything. (grin)

On a more fun note I have been having such a great time creating gift toppers for you in the VintageNest studio. The more I create the more my imagination runs wild. The only thing I need more of is time. I love adding bits and pieces of vintage ephemera, old buttons and old jewelry to them. Here are a few that are ready to go. These are so unique and totally one-of-a-kind and will make any gift so special.

Amendment: I forgot to add this to the post. Cherry, here is a sneak peek of your Very Vintage Christmas swap. Hehe! It's on it's way!

Have a great week y'all and I hope your week started out better than mine. :))

Oh this reminds me of the time I tried to avert a lot of traffic on an icy hill and go up a side street. I ended up in the ditch and five hours later, a tow truck finally came and pulled me out. I said how much more to tow me home? It was worth every penny!

I'm glad you are creating!
Love, Dana

Oh dear what a start to the week. I was watching one of those bloopers tv shows today and I saw a four wheel drive in the snow driving towards what they thought was a car park, it turned out the sheet of ice was a frozen water feature in front of an office block, so as soon as the Land Rover drove onto it it was in water nearly to the roof. It was very funny, so it could be worse....Just!! I bet you still managed to look completely chic and stylish despite the circumstances Hee Hee. Hope the rest of your week is uneventful X

Bummer. It is so annoying when these type of things happen. I love that your husband didn't say a thing. I believe my husband would have done the same.

Oh Lynn, that was just awful! What a perfect time for a "knight in shining armor" to have stepped forward to help you... after all, "sugar melts". I'm glad you didn't though.

My 84 yr old mom is "visiting" indefinitely. She's so much fun! Loving it but if you miss me I'm trying my best to be very entertaining. You should hear me, Lynn, "Mother, would you like to help me make some potholders?" - no response - Repeating it but raising the volume -no response - shaking her shoulder, making sewing motions with my hands... while she looks at me like her daughter has lost it. And so it goes...

Your post made me smile - that is something I definitely would have done as well except I wouldn't have been as smart as you and would have been spinning my tires making a big mess. At least you are safe and sound!
