Fruit Punch and Shabby ???

It never fails you know. I always say I want to keep the fanciful things I create for the boutique in the soft shabby, dreamy, delicate, refined and classic palette but then Spring comes and I go shopping and see this!

and this

and this

and this.

Just look at all those gorgeous, hot, brilliant, fruit punch colors. How can one not yearn to adopt some into her creations? I must forget about the people starring at me as I snap photos of bath towels and store displays. I pretend to talk on the phone and then quickly snap a shot and then shake the phone and look at it like there is something wrong with it. I wonder if I fooled anyone with my not so subtle picture taking. Probably not, but the who cares when the end results are a post for my sweet readers and others who venture by. :) I had been saving and collecting various pieces over the last couple of months but it was not until I saw that gorgeous green in all those glorious Spring time displays that I finally knew how this project would turn out. Not your usual eggs under the glass cloche idea here, but a sweet shabby white nest on a romantic vintage gold tone mirrored vanity tray, beautiful with it's intricate floral lacy filigree edges and pretty acanthus leaf feet. A sweet ornate little vintage silver bird sits on her blue and green dotty hued eggs with some real natural feathers collected from the country grounds. Her pretty nest is all gussied up for this season of rebirth with a vintage lime green enamel brooch, centered with a faux pearl. Off to one side is a glorious lime green fabric bow, centered with a pretty beaded flower. Bits of white netting only add to the charm of her home. Now this sweet bird, being ever so clever, doesn't just build her shabby white nest and let it rest at that...oh no...under her nest is another nest, this one woven with gold twigs and an abundance of clear ice like crystals. A glorious and charming centerpiece for your Easter table and a tres chic vignette for all year round. Created in The Vintage Nest studio just for you and when it's gone it's gone. Never another one like it. :) You can find it here.

Hope you all have a fabulous week. As for me, with the pretty weather we are having, I will be out and about sprucing and fluffing.

LYNN, your design is truly a feast for the eye! I'm sure you won't have that very long. I love it because it is so different and so unexpected. I do have one question though ~~ does it mean there were two fathers since there are two colors of eggs? LOL! I also wonder about mixing egg colors in a nest to keep it real, but I often mix colors as well.

Yes, I'm with you ~~ I am so much more of a vivid color girl. Love them. Great post!

I don't believe this post, honey!! I was just thinking the same thing this weekend. I was....uhhhh "sitting" in the bathroom looking at the towels across from me and called for hubs to bring me my camera. He looked at me "quizically" and asked what I was going to do. I told him I was gonna snap pix of some jewel toned towels I had put out recently and was tired of them and gonna put them on ebay. I wanted light pink or white towels in there and I have some......squeeeeeeeal.......I have towels in every color combo you can imagine. But they are changed out now and I love the lighter colors in there. I feel like I'm living in a cake box with white icing. ;-)
xoxo,
Connie

Lynn, you and I have the same problem. Just when I think I want brights, I see something subdued and think, I am tired of all these colors. Then I go into the beige world and soon I think, Man, give me some color! Where do we find balance? ha ha!

Your little vintage silver bird is precious! I'm just not fond of the bright punch colors. I like things a little more earthy and toned down. Happy Spring!

As usual you made a very beautiful nest, the bird looks so comfy setting in it. I enjoyed your very colorful photos. You know most people in stores are too busy to notice someone taking pictures, they would probably think you were doing it for the store any way. Have a great week.
