What's Under Yours??

What's under your cloche that is! Yeh! It's time for the 2nd Cloche Party hosted by A Stroll Thru Life. Just Click right here to magically take you over to her blog for a list of so many cloche post and ideas it will boggle your mind. :) Thank you Marty for this fun day!

My first cloche is an actual antique European garden wire cloche that I sold in the boutique to a very dear customer of mine. I would love to get my hands on some more of them.

I only have one cloche that I love to change around periodically. This is the Fall vignette I just did after Labor Day. The spooky witches black book is a Halloween piece I did for my Etsy shop and is for sale if you are looking for something wickedly fun. The bird I found at Michael's and is covered in gold feathers and has a long feathered tail. An old skeleton key rest at the base of the white ceramic pumpkin.

Recently we had our friends over for dinner to celebrate her birthday. After dinner I presented her with a sweet little personal birthday cake under glass. It looked so festive and elegant. She loved it. We each had a tiny little slice (with ice cream and sprinkles and nuts and chocolate syrup and a cherry on top). :)

And speaking of parties. This is a fun Halloween party hat or if you have a birthday at Halloween even better as a cake topper or gift topper. I love to always add something vintage in all my hat creations so it is totally unique and to showcase them under the glass cloche. This one is sold but I have a few more listed here in the Etsy shop.

Sometimes, after I have found something wonderful on my "treasure hunts", I like to savor them a while before I put them in The Vintage Nest boutique for sale. This sweet shabby bird was one of them. I put some vintage pink faux pearls around her neck and placed her pink nest in a silver compote. I enjoyed her for a while until she flew to California to live, where I hear she is quite happy.

For months now I have been looking for miniature vintage Italian plaster creche pieces to put under my Christmas cloche. So far I have found Mary and Joseph and some lambs. The fun is in the looking and I have no doubt that eventually I will find more. Maybe that will be shown at the next Cloche party. Have a great day and thanks for coming by.

Lynne,

You made some really nice cloches although the one with the cake really caught my eye! ;-) Where in the world did you find a cake pan so small?!!!

I love all of your little birds. I saw the one with the BIG feathers at Michael's. He is magnificant!! And I love the wire one 'that got away'!

So neat to hear you are part of the Shabby Lane Shops!! I've visited there many times and even bought a few things!! I'll be by to visit, online shopping lover that I am!!

Lynn, A while back I came home from a thrift store with a cute little wire basket thingy that looks like that wire cloche. I felt so proud for nabbing that "find", I filled it with goodies and sat it on the porch. Hubs comes walking in the door and says "what's up with the golf ball basket on the porch?". Just goes to show, one man's trash (or golfing accessory) is another's treasure!

Can I come live under the glass in your home too?

Hi Lynn! Sorry for the long delay, but after one year work, I got my official week off and, as always, the week before was terrible and the return awful... ;). Furthermore, there was 09.09.09, which for me was a bit depressing, as I entered a Club 60 I would prefer to postpone the joining... ;))
I’ll try to find some more time in the coming week to enjoy your posts!! But the cloches are amazing!!

Blogtrotter is now in Turkey. Enjoy and have a fabulous weekend!

Lynn, I am SOOOO far behind reading posts from the cloche party!! Sorry to be so late getting here. Worked all day trying to clean a very messy house and finally have made some time to read and post some comments,

Your cloche designs are just precious! I love the birdie with her pearls- she must like to play dress-up, just like all little girls. And the one with the white pumpkin and the yellow bird is so pretty. Love the simplicity of the skeleton key.

My SIL bought a small cake for my B-day 2 years ago and placed it under a very small cake dome on a pedestal base. It was so pretty but way before my time recognizing "cloches" as a decorating tool! Yours made me think of her kindness.

Thanks so much for always coming by to visit and leave much appreciated comments.
big hugs to you, Sue

Oh I just love cloche displays! It's not practical for my life right now though due to 4 kids and all the puppies. Someday...

About the YouTube video - my digital camera takes video so I can just save it like it's a picture. Then if you want, you can create an account with YouTube and upload the video. Then it can be embeded. Hope that helps a little =}

Have a great Monday! Blessings... Polly

I love them all! The giveaway at Shabby Lanes is wonderful. I have visited around all the gorgeous shops. Since I sell these special trims and am downsizing, I will be refraining from the temptation to sign up.

I do hope lots will, though, because it is extra special.

Hello Lynn, I love your cloche collection. i especially love that you enjoy your treasures for a while and then sell them. When I was in the antique business, I did the same thing. Many of my purchases were just what I loved. Some of those items I never did part with. BIG smile.

You have a nice variety of cloches. When I price the nice big ones I just don't buy them. One day I will, when I can't resist. LOL. Your post is fun and clever. Thanks for sharing.

Hugs...Jeanne
