Silver Sunday ~ Bring It On Mother Nature & Poor Man's Silver

Oh no! Not another snow blog post! I can hear you now! :) No...it's not.....sorta, but I just have to tell you how we are just getting socked around here. I am sure by now you have heard how Washington D.C. got it and is still getting pummeled with this white snow. Well...us too! It just keeps coming and coming and coming. And whoa is me, I just know I will not be able to get out of my driveway by Tuesday to get to my dental appointment. Oh...too bad! :) Anyway, I just had to post one snow (okay...three) photos of the back grounds looking down towards the lake because it does look all SILVERY ......don't you agree? And then I had to post one photo of this dear sweet little SILVER /gray tufted titmouse bird hunkered down in the snow laden branches waiting for his turn at the SILVER bird feeder. (Can you see him?). And then for just one more snow photo I had to show you my SILVER metal bucket planter. Man oh man, I can't wait to get that thing planted with Spring flowers. Every year I can never decided what to put it in. Last year it was pink begonias, before that it was pink petunias and before that pink geraniums.

And now for the actual Silver Sunday photo I know you have all been waiting for! I started collecting pewter when we were first married....poor man's silver. I have supper plates, napkin rings, goblets, saucers, mugs, platters, Jefferson cups and small accessories. The photo shows one shelf of the kitchen French cabinet they are housed in. Also in that photo is an antique papier mache pig that I have had for years. I love him! (Jenny...that's for you...ha!) And the SILVER bird nest painting, a dear blogging friend painted. So there you have it, my Silver Sunday post.

I am so excited!...Doing cartwheels...I am so excited. Beth, our fabulous Silver Sunday Sista hostess is going to continue with this fun day. Not only that I hear tell she is having a give-away for today so you best get on over to Gypsy Fish Journal and sign up and see what all the fuss is about. Thanks Beth! I love Silver Sundays!

Beautiful snow pictures...looks so peaceful and serene. Great bucket, I think patriotic colors would be fun fun to plant.

What a wonderful collection of pewter...I especially like the style of your plates.

I am sick and tired of snow, but the pictures are so pretty, I like to see snow cling to trees. That little pig is so cute. I feel guilty around here, we had only one bad snow storm this winter, we still have snow on the ground but you can see some of the ground. The sun was shinning today and the rays felt so nice and warm. Sorry about all your snow. Have a nice day.

A nice collection of pewter and really, it has much more character than silver plate. Your snow pictures are delightful! You should click on over and see the lovely day we've had!

Love your pewter, Lynn. I only have a couple of pieces but I love. I hope your snow leaves you quickly! We have been so blessed this year in our area of Michigan. We've managed to just miss the worst of every storm so far this winter. But then again, it's our turn to catch a break - last year was horrendous! Stay warm and safe...
Wonderful Silver Sunday post!

Love your snow pictures. They look like they are in black and white!!

I love pewter. I have a neighbor friend who collects it and I adore looking at it all over her English style home. Beautiful. And you have some very nice pieces!

I hope you are snuggled up warm and cozy!! ;-)

It does look Gorgeous, but I remember the effects, Fortunately We Missed it here in Michigan, totally went under us ~ I should be knocking on wood, since there is still alot of winter left, but we have skirted many storms this year, I think we have Under our normal snow fall
[I am Knocking on all the wood I can find]

I feel so bad. I think I have less snow up here in Maine right now than I think the rest of the country has. I even have large patches of grass showing (although all brown). Your photos look very pretty, I especially like the one with the little bird. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous snow pictures, Lynn! This has been
the strangest winter that I can remember, at least here in the south. I love your pewter dishes. An absolutely beautiful collection.

Lynn, I could look at snow pictures all the time. They are so beautiful. I take lots of snow pictures too. I love the little bird. I always wonder how they survive in such harsh weather. We are expecting snow tomorrow. I will be out with my camera too. Stay warm..
