I just love Beth's Silver Sunday's and today I just wanted to show you some fun, quirky, silver stuff I found and have listed in the boutique. Now some might say these aren't exactly pretty "boutiquey" items, like say maybe some exquisite old silver serving pieces but I say yep....they are because boutique means "special and unlike what you find anywhere else" and that's what these pieces say. It's these type of items that make a home a reflection of it's owner and speaks to the heart and soul. I guess that's why I love vintage and upcycled items.
The first item is a fabulous vintage flashlight. I love the art deco slider on it and the eight sided top piece, not to mention the silver and gold tone. Perfect to place on top of a stack of books as a great conversation starter.
My next fun piece is a wonderful old splayed leg alarm clock. It doesn't work but I loved it because of it's faded silver metal wide side, the top ring and those fabulous numbers. I think it's kind of Frenchyfied too.
And finally the piece de resistance.....a gauge to a vintage milking machine. Say what?!!! Yep....I loved this piece too. Very interesting and cool looking and very French farmhouse. Love the old rusty, crusty silver on it and talk about a conversation piece. This too would look great sitting on top of a stack of book. Writing this post it has occurred to be how much I loved stacked books. I think I have another post topic now. (big grin).
So there you have.......great old Silver Stuff. Thanks to Beth over at that fabulous blog, "Gypsy Fish Journal", for hosting this fun day. Go visit here for a whole list of participating Silver Aficionados and HAPPY SILVER SUNDAY. :)
I am off to my Momma's to celebrate Mother's Day with her, my sisters and my brother. So I will be seeing you this evening and tomorrow as soon as I can. This is my Mom at 21. When I was a kid I used to make her corsages using flowers from her garden. I wonder if she will remember that when I present this sweet little corsage I made for her this morning. It's a little bit more sophisticated (but not much :) than the ones I made back then. I used a snippet of vintage crocheted lace instead of tulle. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY Mom and to all of you special ladies.
