Woo Hoo Wednesday ~ Fairies in the Garden

I've heard that fairies, those enchanting noiseless spirits of nature,  bathe in rain drops, love baubles and bling, especially pearls and rhinestones,  and appreciate a bit of sweet tidbit every now and then.  I have wondered for a long time if I have a fairy living in my garden or that maybe those beautiful butterflies are really fairies in the making.  Maybe it's the sparkle, sometimes known as fairy dust,  I often see on the flowers or the thimble of milk I leave for the kitty disappearing over night or sometimes, just sometimes, I think I see a flitting of shadow in my midst.  Or maybe,  just maybe, it's the fact that someone braided all my daffodil stems one night as I lay sleeping.  I really don't think Martha Stewart paid me a visit and did it.  :)

I wanted to plant some sweet pink and white polka dot plants but the fading daffodil stems needed to be left as is.  Maybe the fairy heard me discussing this problem with Bobby G...... I don't know.  All I know is now I have these beautifully braided stems.  Perhaps the biggest hint that magical powers had been at work,  is the fact that I found a string of my pearls laying on the rocks, maybe having been played with on gossamer wings.

Light happy music, chimes in the wind and candlelight is another of the magical creatures favorites things.  The Vintage Nest has happy music playing all day long.......we love to dance you know......maybe that is the draw of this place.  Or perhaps they heard there is a celebration coming soon.   A wee one is having a birthday...WooHoo....a party for Boo.  For you see, this morning I discovered more mysterious leavings.  Beautiful fairy wands!  Why I found one in the dogwood tree.....

 And one in the roses......

 And one on the arbor.....

Sweet gentle good fairies they must be......leaving the most beautiful of wands for Ms. Boo.  How did they know this beautiful child just loves fairies and fairy houses and purple and gold and sparklies?  It's magic for sure.  Wasn't it Peter, of Peter Pan, who said  "when the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies.  And now when every new baby is born its first laugh becomes a fairy?  So there ought to be one fairy for every little girl."   Yes, of course, Ms. Boo has her very own fairy to look after her and she lives right here.  And could it be, that finding a wand at the base of the old cherry tree, I have found their home?  Perhaps that is why I saw the birds gathering the combed out fur from the resident dog......to soften the beds of the fairies.

Make no mistake about it, this beautiful fairy wand was for Ms. Boo for they left a purple sign just for her.

WooHoo Ms. Boo.....Happy Birthday to You!

Fairies do not appear in our yard leaving trinkets of sorts. There is however, gremlins of destruction.

What a COOL place to have nearby! That is indeed a fairy spot if there'd ever been one! :D

Yes, that quote is from Peter himself in Peter Pan.
And if you like Pan, there's a continuation out based on Barrie's own idea for more. Click!

Thanks so much for sharing the pix and stories. It made my day.

No Fairies here, just mischief Squirrels stealing nuts. I so enjoyed reading your post and I liked the Faires wands. Happy Birthday to Boo, may her day be filled with all kind of surprises. May the Fairies wave their wands and make this happen.

Lynn, The story was wonderful. I was sitting on the couch with my cats and they heard the birds chirping before I did! I left it on quite awhile because I got such a kick out of watching the cats, maybe they were looking for the fairies??

Oh, this is just the absolute sweetest!! Happy Birthday Boo!

When I was about 9 we lived on Guam, way back in the 60's, in a village before we got base housing. My friend from across the street and I would find small change laid out on rocks or leaves in their beautiful tropical yard. It was magical. Her mom told us the fairies left them for us and we would buy candy. Magical memories.

Your Boo will have those too. This post is awesome and thank you so much for sharing it with us at Woo Hoo! Wednesday!

What a happy post! I love magical things. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Seems quite a few people have bad reactions to pain meds while others sail blissfully through. Too bad we're in the first category.

Dear Lynn, when my lovely niece Julie found out from her friends(age 14) that there were no such things as fairies she was so mad at us. We always made he believe that the faires were here amoung us and she was so hurt. What to do? we just went about our talks like her friends had no clue to what was real or fake. We believe in faires. Then the Vampire craze hit and we told her..Mmm..just like the faires huh??? she just smiled..loving Edward Cullen!

Mr. Magpie was so thrilled with all of his greetings. Thank you for making his day and mine!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend to you and yours. I'm going to take off from blogging for a couple of days, but then I'll probably be back before you even know I was missing. ;-)

XO,

Sheila :-)
