The golden anniversary is one of the most celebrated wedding anniversaries. And rightly so, since spending a half a century in love with the same person is a wonderful statement about the gift of marriage. Last weekend we traveled to North Carolina to attend the 50th wedding anniversary of my big sister. As my brother so eloquently put it in a sweet speech he gave to her and our brother-in-law, " when we were little children we used to call her Adie because we couldn't say Alice." It was a beautiful June day...... a magical one, a fun one, one filled with laughter, friends, great food and fond memories. I took this photo of the two of them as they renewed their vows. My little sister made that incredibly gorgeous white rose bridal bouquet for "Adie". I hope you will indulge me by allowing me to post this on Silver Sunday as I saw that she was wearing a silver bracelet. Happy Anniversary Al and Al! We love you!
A big thank you to Beth over at Gyspy Fish Journal for having this fun Silver party. For a whole passel of shiny silver just click right here. As I was writing this post a song kept going thru my head that we used to sing when I was a girl scout. "Make new friends, But keep the old, for one is Silver and the other is Gold". ~~~~~ Next weekend is the "Where Bloggers Create" party. It's going to be amazing and I hope to see you there. xoxo
