Still altering and repurposing by going from the beautiful and the sublime to the dark and spooky. Yes, folks, it's hot outside, but it's almost August and before you know it Autumn will be here with it's crisp cool days, oranges and blacks and spiders and Halloween. Using a very worn out old book, I have made a fun display piece for a fabulous and fun Fall vignette. Having a Halloween party? ........ perfect on the refreshment table or entry way table or carry with you to your neighbor's party. The old book has been glued shut and the page edges painted a worn gold. Dyed black muslin, frazzled and ragged and stiffened, covers the book. This old book is a witch's book for you see it contains her spells and mystical brews. Her rusty old key hangs from the black netting as well as her old black watch piece. It's very important for an old witch to know when it's the bewitching hour of midnight!
Thank you for visiting me at the party today. Just click here for a list of all those participating. I can't wait to see all the fun altered art. And I am also linking up with our Beverly of 'How Sweet the Sound'. Surely not the black witch's book but the beautiful pink rose party hat deserves a spot at Pink Saturday. You can click here for a look see at so much pink you will think you have landed in cotton candy. xoxo Both the Spells Book and the Rose Party Hat are in The Vintage Nest shop and can be found here and here. Just thought you'd want to know. :) Be back in a few days. :) xoxoxo

Good Morning Lynn Sweetie...
What a beautiful share today. You are so creative. I love to see what you are sharing each day. This is the perfect party hat. Love it.
I have posted my blanket today. Be sure and pop in. My pink sheets did not arrive, so I didn't do a complete, but it sure does smell of roses.
Have a gorgeous Pink Saturday sweetie.
Country hugs and much love, Sherry
You certainly know how to alter and your recycling projects are always a delight. I liked the hat, but the Spell Book caught my eye and when you said glued shut my mind conjured up all kinds of spells within the pages, the key is a very nice touch. I am always amazed when I come to see what you have created. Your music is so relaxing. Have a nice weekend.
I love the party hat but that spells book just screams vintage, I love that. I am new to blogging and to paper crafting. Please come by and visit me sometime. Have a wonderful friday :) Kim

Sparkly Hugs,

I love your idea of using an old picture for the hat! Altered art is one of the best ways we can save the planet! Keep things out of landfills and beautify the earth at the same time! The spell book is awesome too! Thanks for stopping by today! Theresa
Thank you so much for commenting on my piece. I know it's not as sophisticated and elegant as many of the other partiers' pieces (like your lovely party hat), but I suppose my style is a little different, and I am certainly still amateur.
I love your pieces! I particularly love the spell book because I love anything to do with magic, and now is certainly the time when I start to get excited about Halloween and begin the magical crafts early!
Your party hat also inspires me to make a similar hat of a different style in the future, so shame on you for that! I already have so many craft ideas and I don't need any more!
Just kidding ... well, not about being inspired because it is a great idea.
Love, Lilly

Hi Lynn. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Yes, I do make macaroons. What kind of recipe would you like? Tell me which one you are using and maybe I can see what the problem is if you are having a problem. Just email me. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Kat

Hi Lynn! Lovely!! But there is no need to be calling for winter out of time... ;))
There is a weird post at Blogtrotter Two... Enjoy and have a great Sunday and a gorgeous week ahead!
Lynn, thank you so much for you comment. Now are the place cards going into the wedding or witches journal. I love your ideas too. As for the place cards I used cards from a game my kids did not use, the only thing I had to buy was the chalkboard paint and I picked that up cheap at walmart. I will give you another idea, I also used those refridgerator magnets that are flat, just paint on side with the paint. Good luck with all of your ideas.
That's a darling project, Lynn. Thanks for sharing your creativity. A belated Happy Pink Saturday to you! Peggy x
This is a dreamy pink Saturday post! I love it and I am so glad I made it over today. Anne
