Pink Saturday Cows

Before today's pink post I want to remind you of my give-away going on....did you know that?  A subscription to the best new  French e-magazine!   "Belle Inspiration"  You will absolutely go ga-ga over it!  and I am hoping you will sign up for the Give Thanks party too......it's going to be a fun and special day ~ xoxo Lynn

Okay....there are no cows on today's pink post.....welllll....there kinda are! But mostly it's about getting off the freeways and traveling the back roads. There are just some wonderful things out there to see if you get off the interstates and slow down. For example this cute little store with the pink nosed cow.  It turned out to be the best place for lunch.....not to mention the homemade blackberry ice cream!.....Nope!  You won't find that on the freeway.  (By the way, my GPS calls the interstate the motor way.  Don't you just love that?  the motorway!)

That was our first stop of the day for us.  US.......who's us???  Why me and Francie of the Scented Cottage.....that's who US!  Francie, that Georgia Peach, came to visit me.  She makes the most delightful scented waxes, among other things, and I do hope you will visit her site.  We hit the  back roads treasure hunting.  Lots of fun, laughs, good eats, pink photo sessions and treasures found!    We stayed at the most fabulous historical old B & B, called The Norris House Inn.  I highly recommend this place if you are ever near the Washington D.C. area.  The house is beautifully appointed and run by an English couple.  And the breakfast they served.....woohoo....we lingered for an hour or two on the breakfast porch chatting with the other guest.  The blue room was ours.  (sorry...I asked for a pink room but they didn't have one. :)

The little town of Leesburg was our destination and it's just delightful.  You can pretty much walk to everything and it's just full of charming restaurants and shops.   Now Francie said no no to her picture being taken but I managed to slip in a glimpse or two of her or parts of her......if you can find them. :)  Don't you just love all the pink we found?

And if you are like me I love anything French.   Dinner in this darling place, The Eiffel Tower Cafe, was so much fun.  Mark, our waiter, was French and since we were early birds for dinner, he had time to chat with us......oooh...swoon....listening to his accent and he was cute too!  :)  Nope...not a picture of Mark!  I forgot!  Bad bad me!   A little appetizer before dinner.......something on a cucumber.....don't know what it was...but it was sooooo good!  (Francie's hand....teehee!  did you find the other picture of her?)

And this was a little something I picked up with you in mind.  Textiles of any kind, I just love.  And I was so excited to find these shabby,  muted old bolts of thread.  I am crazy in love with the colors, especially the pink.  I married them with a wonderful old ornate metal ruffly basket, vintage crinkled sheet music nesting material and a snippet of antique lace I was able to salvage from a slip that was falling apart.  I love it...don't you.  A sweet collection of old treasures and a sweet cottage charm display.  You can find it here in the shop.   What fun we had...... meeting a new friend  through this amazing place called blogland.

And if you want to meet many more new friends just click right here.  It will whisk you right over to Beverly's blog, "How Sweet the Sound".  She is our hostess of this fun day called Pink Saturday.  Bobby G. and I are in New England right now being leaf peepers. :) See you soon and I will try to visit you all while I am on the road. xoxo

Lynn- It looks like you two had so much fun. I take it you met just through blogging? How wonderful is THAT!!!

I love all the places you visited and even though you had a BLUE room, I'd say it was pretty cute and cozy. Besides you made up for it with all your other "pinkness". Have fun leaf peeping--we just got back ourselves. Hugs- Diana

Everything always tastes devine when served by a French waiter I say!
It might have been the "blue" room, but the lighting gave it the most wonderful rosy hue.
Everything looked tray sheek...she said with a Texas accent!

Oh, Lynn! This looks like so much fun! SO many great things to see and do! And so much PINK!

I'm not on the train today, but I wanted to drop by and visit. I'm having computer issues which are maddening, and I've got things I have to do with Mr. Magpie this weekend. So no PS for me today. Maybe soon.

Warm hugs, my friend...

XO,

Sheila :-)
