Remember when you had to write that first paper on returning to school after a fun filled summer?...... "What I did On My Summer Vacation" Well....this is what I did. I worked on holiday stuff...even Easter!
Now back to our regularly scheduled event :)
After collecting for months and months, I started work on my "Memory Trees". Vintage style hand dyed bottle brush trees were decorated with old rhinestone jewelry, sweet mercury glass bead garlands, classic pearls possessing creamy vintage patina, tarnished vintage tinsel, raggedy lampshade ruffles, fabulously worn and faded small ornaments, vintage glass Santa s, sugar bells and mica reindeer along with other old bits of holidays past.
From the softest of cotton candy colors including our beloved pink, to the bright and happy reds and greens of the season, these relics of the past with tattered elegance and charm, are nestled in old florist pottery vases. Sprinkled with glitter and frosted snow and using vintage German angel hair as tree skirts, they make a sweet yuletide statement and remind us of childhood sugarplum dreams.
I just had so fun much collecting all the little treasures for these trees and then making them with love and sweet memories....now available here at The Vintage Nest shop. Have a happy Pink Saturday each and every one of you all and for more pink goodness just click here for a whole long list at Beverly's place. I have missed the last couple of Saturdays for my treasure hunts so I am out and about looking for more memories today. I'll "see" you this afternoon and tomorrow. xoxo
