Happy Turkey Sandwich day!! How was your Thanksgiving? Ours was filled with fun, laughter, friends, family, Martha Stewart type decor....NOT....just kidding.... and an old Farmhouse table so laden with delicious food it was literally groaning or was that me? :) I hope your Thanksgiving was as sweet as ours. My dining room has painted deep red walls from the chair rail up, so trying to add orange pumpkins in the decorating scheme just doesn't quite cut it. While out on my junking and antiquing travels with Sherry, I found this old lamp base. A quick spray with white paint and the old wood base was transformed into a beautiful stand. The base sat on three pretty brass feet and had a pretty decorative brass top. All total it was over a foot tall, raising the lowly white pumpkin to an elevated and regal status. Tied with a wide vintage satin bow, it elicited oohs and aahs from my company. I love decorating with found objects and the total cost........$2.00.
And speaking of red, I had such a nice surprise yesterday. My guests came bearing gifts. And unbeknown to each other, my sister and sister-in-law, each gave me a red velvet stocking topped with a black and white satin zebra ruffle. We had double the laughs and double the fun. I'd say they know me well.......red being my best color and the fact that I have a thing for black and white too. But guess what was in those stockings? The cutest knit tops you ever saw....perfect for holiday dressing, perfect to wear with my black and white zebra coat and PERFECT for PINK SATURDAY. Don't you just love that mannequin theme?
Happy Pink Saturday! Thank you Beverly of the blog "How Sweet the Sound" for being our host. Beverly has changed things up a bit and now has a "linky" on her blog for Pink Saturdays. So put your picture up and join her! I am headed out on a trip this week and I'll post again before I leave. You will love the unique vintage religious items I have found for your Christmas decorating. Until then....xoxo
