I do want to give a little tutorial on how I made these altered eggs , in case you want to save some money....but not time and FRUSTRATION. Yep,,,,,, I became very frustrated making these......which is why I only made three sweet little vignettes. :)
Tea or coffee stain your muslin fabric. You know how to do that ...... right?.....don't need a tute. And then cut up or tear lots, and lots, and lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of odd sized small pieces to cover your eggs. They should be small because you are working on a curve. Leave the bits of loose strings as they are. I used a water downed white glue as my adhesive because it dries with a slight sheen. The frustrating part...........after only a few glue on moments everything starts to stick to your fingers........all of them! So, you have to wash your hands a lot, then get back to work. Oh, and don't do it just after you've spent a bunch of money on a manicure....trust me on that one! :) For the fun part and to add lots of visual interest, you can use all kinds of added materials such as twine, pretty vintage paper ephemera letters, old lace and tatting, sheet music, netting, cheesecloth and anything else you wish. I covered old plastic Easter eggs because they are light weight and I put them outside in the sunshine to dry resting in an old egg carton. There you go.....easy peasy but for me a HIGH level of fussin'.
I know it's not over yet........winter I am talking about, but we are being blessed this week with the most delightful warm weather. The chickens are clucking in approval, the kitty is snoozing on the warm sun dappled window seat, the dog is starring at his leash longingly for a walk and I am Outside spray painting again (and making Easter eggs).
Thank you Kathleen of Faded Charm for allowing me to be a part of White Wednesday and to Courtney of French County Cottage for her fun day at Feathered Nest Friday.
And yep, I know I am posting early but that sunshine beckons me outside for the rest of the week. Lots of work to do on that future adventure (drawing closer) I told you about. Have a fabulous week. xoxoxo

Oh Lynn,

Love your eggs..I make a nice looking egg with ribbon..not so messy to work with! :)
Yours Sincerely,
Shirley
Could you do half the egg at a time? Aside from the mess, they look fun to make. And they are SO cute!!
We had a bit of a warm up...40's, but the air smells so fresh and I have been opening the windows a little to chase some of winter away {temporarily, I'm sure}. Enjoy your week, Lynn!
XO,
Jane
How fun! Well...not FUN to make...but fun to look at...I think I will skip this tutorial...because I fear I will be all thumbs when it comes to gluing things to eggs! Hugs- Diana
Your eggs are darling, perfect for Easter or anytime of year:) I'm glad I'm not the only who gets frustrated with mod podge!!!
The eggs turned out great!
That is a great way to decorate eggs for vignettes. Very pretty.
Love your eggs and thank you for telling us how to make them. They look a little frustrating, but I might just give them a try. Your vignette is just lovely.
Cindy
They turned out wonderful! thanks for the idea!
Happy White Wednesday
I think they turned out great. Very cute idea. Sorry they were a pain in the bum to make though.
Lynn, I love them, you will have to let me know how they sell in the booth! My son lives your way, I talked to him yesterday and he said it was gorgeous weather!

I love your little vintage eggys and so glad they are not real vintage eggs...they would not smell so sweet. I love this idea and I love the way they are nestled in your silver dish...so sweet.
Thanks for sharing,
Kiss Noises Linda
Bonjour Lynn,

Hi lynn, I make all kinds of eggs also only I;m just getting started on spring, handy tip, keep a box of baby wipes next to your gluing area, then your hands aren't dried out from washing them and it allows you to keep working, easy peasy! Hugs Marilou
Thanks for the tutorial. I have lots of bits of lace so I plan to use those up with some cheesecloth...I love how yours turned out :)
I'm posting this on your blog and I'm going to do the same on FB, Thank you Lynn, You actually got it, the way it was supposed to be viewed or read, it is a great story and wasn't meant to be sad! Thank You, Hugs Marilou
Wow! what fabulous vintage looking eggs. Love how they have that rusty look to them.

These are gorgeous! I am going to have to make some because I'm not big on the Easter pastels. Thanks for sharing with us.
I love how these turned out. I tried doing some last year with music sheet paper and they looked like something my kids would have brought home when they were in Kindergarten. Not so good.....yours are lovely.
Kathleen
Those are lovely and they do look like they took a lot of time, love and frustration.
those are beautiful, and yes do look time consuming. I'm truly getting closer to digging out those easter and spring decorations!
Lynn,
These are just so darn cute...love the look of them.
Blessings,
Linda
