Oh My! French Chic Clock Makeover

Yard Sales were a bust this past weekend and I can't say I blame anyone for not wanting to mess with them while "this heat is on", so I ran up the road to my favorite boutiques, SA and GW, to see if I could find a treasure or two.  Eureka!  I did but not at first glance.  I spotted these, flew right on by, and then an aisle or two over, a brilliant idea hit me right in the face and I rushed back over to grab one .....no...two.  I got one for me and one for you.  I don't get too many great ideas so I am pretty proud of myself about now.    Painting this burgundy college clock, with the great legs and a fabulous top knot, a simple white and applying my special brand of antiquing...a  pinch of noir, a bit of dove gray, a touch of homemade walnut juice from my own tree.....mixed into the wax and voila....a million dollar French clock.   Dressed up in stylishly torn pieces of an antique, with gorgeous worn patina, French school book, she's the epitome of style and grace.  Isn't she beautiful?  And she speaks French with the sweetest little tick you ever heard.
I Love This

Great finds, Lynn. I actually hit pay dirt at a yard sale this weekend. GW isn't worth going to here.

Have a beautiful week ~

Wow, this truly is a piece of art now! It's magnificently French, to boot. Can't beat that combination. Looking forward to your sharing it with my readers over at Tuesday's Club G.W. with Charm Bracelet Diva. Party should be up by Monday night!

I would have loved to been a fly on the wall when that light bulb went off over your head. How many people did you knock down to get back to the clocks?
This is fantastic and quite the doozy of an idea!

Lynn- You've inspired me to do something with a similar clock that I have. I love that you didn't use any numbers and that you added the Frenchy book page to your glazing/painting. Just yummy~

Oh you are Good, you are. Now I am all inspired to do this, too.
Sad.
I have no clocks to remake.

That's because (like the wimp that I am) I stayed inside where it is cool.
