Pink Blessings

Today is a very special Pink Saturday Blessings Day
in honor of Charlie's Miracle Makeover

I was so blessed recently to have witnessed some very special events......all in one day.  Maybe I am just a maudlin or overly pensive type person or maybe it's my old (er) age but I believe these simple things in life are truly life's unexpected blessings.  Just small minute happenings but carrying so much weight.

Scroll back up to the top of my blog and note that little flower painted home made bird house.  Well...that sweet little house is mounted on a tree just maybe 15 feet or so from my outside project work table.  And this is what I witnessed so late in the season the other day.  I had no idea she had built in the box and this photo session lasted maybe a minute or two.  The next day that family was gone.  Isn't she absolutely gorgeous?  Just look at that beautiful blue.  I felt so blessed to witness Momma bluebird feeding her chirping babies.

Shortly after that, a small storm approached, hit and was gone.  And this appeared over the lake.   There are some who have never seen a rainbow and I had one in my backyard.  Yes, small beautiful blessings are everywhere....full of hope.

And 42 years ago this same day, two very young people got married.  Bobby G. and me.  What a blessing to have and to hold for all this time. (Now a true blessing would be to still be able to wear a short dress like that again....  :)

What a fabulous wedding picture - I just adore your short dress and those mod shoes. We were married in a much simpler time - and like you guys it was more about marriage than wedding! Congratulations on a rare "lasting" marriage!
Oh the bluebird is just wonderful and lucky you to have captured on film to share with us. Coupled with a rainbow your blog is full of miracles today for a wonderful cause. xoxo Nancy

Happy Pink Saturday, dear Lynn. You are such a dear friend and good heart.

I adore your sweet little bluebird. Bluebirds are my favorite. I agree that she was a gift to you.

I remember those short hemlines. And, I also remember having the legs to wear them. Ah, the good ole days.

Thank you for participating in this very special Pink Saturday. I hope your visitors will come over to comment and help us to raise more money for the next Miracle Makeover.

We have been married one year and 4 days longer than you and Bobby G. I couldn't have imagined that so loooooong ago that I would say I'd been married 43 years! However, as Nancy said, when we all got married, it was more about the marriage and less about the wedding. (She says the smartest things!) I know my groom and I paid for it all..such as it was....and I felt it was wonderful! :)

Oh, yes, I wish I could wear a short dress again..The Fashion Police would arrest me on the spot if I tried it now....not a pretty sight! :)

I love how you captured the unexpected gifts in your back yard...the mama blue bird and the amazing rainbow. Truly God's blessings and inspiration just for you...thank you for sharing them with us!

Happy Pink Saturday!!! L, Dana

A wonderful post! Not many folks have bluebirds nesting close...they are picky! A rainbow is always a symbol of God's love for us and His many blessings. Congratulations on your anniversary. Aren't we blessed to still have our life partners after many years. God is good!...even if you can't still fit into the dress! LOL!

The photos and story are so touching and absolute TRUTH. I think the thing is...when we are older we --if we have grown... are more conscious of these everyday and everywhere miracles.

I marvel as you do...daily....Your birds are living art and looked so sweet in your birdhouse...

Thank-you for this HIGHLY positive and inspirational post.

I am grateful you joined the Miracle Makeover effort and your Angel Wings you have earned are bluebird blue....

Hugs!

What a nice old bird house and very nice pictures of the mom bird feeding. That picture of you and Bobby is so cute. Happy Pink Saturday.

aw....sweet mamma bird....
I agree with you. It is the small things, things most of us take for granted. It's wonderful you happened to be there that day to see her. All the more so that you should have thought to take photos. I would have been so into the moment that I wouldn't have thought to take pictures.

Happy Anniversary Lynn and Mr. Bobby G. I sure hope you have many, many more....you are ahead of me by 3 yrs. and I too wore a short dress. Can you believe that? Not too common I would say..but it was what I loved.
And this was the first year ever that we had a bluebird visit and breed in our yard. Butch was jumping for joy! (me too)...
Enjoy your anniversary..

What a lovely post! I just love rainbows...I always look for them when the conditions seem to be right...I just know they are out there...I was able to be outside for the first time the other day after a long illness and I was able to see my first Hummingbird of the season! Special! I am "stealing" your button for my button collection and I am a follower now...Pinkim from TrulySimplyPink
