Faded Splendor ~ Rose Petals & Feathers

A single stem, saved from the wedding party, now a faded memory,  lingers on in its decayed splendor, not unlike an old sepia drenched photo.

As delicate as the spent petals of that gorgeous white rose, so lay the soft downy feathers of my girls.  As summer has faded into Fall, Snow, Pepper, Punkin' and Belle, are having their annual "fade" also.  They stop laying for a while and lose their feathers.    I gather the feathers and repurpose.  Rusty, worn, weathered wire reclaimed as Nordic angel wings. The simplicity says refined rustic while showcasing the ordinary.

If you desire the "wings" speak now or off they go to my booth.  I am joining White Wednesday and these other fine parties today.  I am spending the week creating and fluffing and will be back later with a post on an amazing market.  Hope your week is wonderful!  xoxo

Hi Lynn,

Your son's wedding looked wonderful. I wish weddings could last for a few days at least so we could enjoy them. I love your angel wings.

Hi, Lynn. How interesting that I find your blog just 3 days after our son's wedding. I have tons of beautiful roses at home now, and I've planned to dry some of them (I so wish I could save them all!). They had Circus Roses, and deep red and gorgeous, huge yellow roses. Your picture of the rose is stunning!
