Happy Holidays
This deer, which I dearly love, was found years ago. He is papier mache and really showing his age, having lost most of his paint. He was part of a department store display at one time. He was not one of my "got it for nothing buys" like I love to find but I loved him so much I was willing to pay.
The Santa on board behind the deer, was another piece I was thrilled to find. He is hand painted and stands about 5 feet tall. He is a reproduction but I have had him so long, he's now vintage....good grief! :)
Looking at the other side of the porch, you can see the white lanterns, now slightly rusty, from being outside since August. They were bought for the wedding party, but since then I have discovered all kinds of uses for them. Today they encase some of my Santas.
Every year I show you my moss wrapped present, but I love it so, I have to repeat. :)
I just found this sweet old bottle brush wreath with the old mercury glass balls on it and silver foil leaves. I was going to make a wreath to put around the sweet concrete dove's neck but this works just fine. The Vintage Nest boutique found two of these charming old statuary birds and listed one in the boutique.
Bobby G. gave me this life sized iron bicycle one year for Christmas. I love decorating it for each season. If we don't have too rough a winter the pansies will show their sweet faces early Spring. The osage oranges (green orbs) are from a tree in the village out here.
Thanks to all the ladies hosting parties this week. Please thank them when you visit, as it's hard work. :)
The nitty gritty and the work behind the scenes. Lynn! .... You could have combed your hair before this photo was snapped. :) Life as it really is........ :)

Oh my! Your porch is so pretty and I love the Santa. Looking at your porch makes me realize just how awful mine is...bor-ring. Everything I started to do didn't work out so I put a fresh wreath on the door and called it quits. Thanks for the inspiration. I'm going to make a second attempt tomorrow.Wish me luck. :)
