Pink Saturday ~ Vintage Shabby Pink Ornaments

 Happy Pink Saturday
Are we ready for some Christmas!!???  I had all good intentions of getting way more accomplished than I have so far, so you know what I will be doing this weekend.  I have bins and boxes scattered from one end of the house to the other.  The last couple of years we were away for Christmas but this year it's at my house so I am excited to be decorating. I spent two days this week working on my booth at the antique mall.  I thought I had it all ready for the Holiday Open House this weekend but a lot sold (that's a GOOD thing) so I had to redo it.

It's time for Ms. Beverly of How Sweet the Sound's Pink Saturday so I just had to show you what I received on Thanksgiving Day.  None of my family (that I know of) blogs but they all know about our Pink Saturdays and are really into the spirit of it with me.  My sister presented me with this beautiful happy wrapped gift.

Are these old vintage Shiny Brite worn pink ornaments the best??!!  I plan to have a silver and white tree in the dining room and these old ornaments will fit right in with the theme.  Here's a little preview as I am still arranging, arranging and re-arranging.  I bet you don't do that, do you??  :)

She was very clever with her wrapping of these precious jewels.  She re-used a pink cupcake box she had previously received with beautiful cupcakes.  The white holders in the box were perfect to nestle the fragile glass ornaments down in.  Thank you Deb, you know I will cherish them.

And speaking of Debbies, there is a virtual blogger's Christmas Block Party about to happen this coming week that you don't want to miss.  These same girls had a party some time back and thousands attended.  So get your brooms ready 'cause we're flying and let's go. :) The first Open House, starting Monday Dec. 4th,  features Debbie Doo's  monthly Copy Cat magazine challenge, with a holiday theme.   Mine is not exactly a copycat but I plan to copy cat what my sister did so I think that might qualify. :) Below is  the badge for all the happenings.  I hope you will note the dates and plan to attend. I just know the inspiration will be unbelievable.  I plan to attend and be a part of as many parties as I can, depending on how much decorating I get done this weekend.  Bobby G. and I are going to our first real party Saturday night.  I think I am wearing velvet and denim and a touch of bling with a vintage rhinestone snowflake brooch. :)  Do you have a holiday party this weekend? xoxoxo

I'm hoping to go to some of the parties if I get things done in time! They really sound like fun!

Your tree is going to look beautiful with those vintage ornaments. It's funny how pink was so popular back in the day. I inherited some old ornaments from my parents and I was surprised at all the pink ones! What a very sweet present from your sister!!

Happy Holidays, Lynn!

XO,
Jane

I am not very good at fancy gift wrapping. My daughter-in-law is so every Christmas I gather up the bows and use them the next year.

Such pretty pink ornaments.. I remember how fragile they are and it didn't take much to break one years ago.

Hi Lynn, I too have boxes all over the place and I finally almost finished 4 Christmas trees this year. I will debut them next Saturday. Yes, we are having a party here for up to 50 friends. We too were away from home the past two Christmas celebrations. This year I am loving my decorating and being home for Christmas.

Your pink ornaments are so pretty and real treasures. Have fun with them. Your sister rocks. Mine do too. Tomorrow we are spending the day Christmas shopping in Asheville, NC. It is over an hours drive but worth the trip.

Happy Pink Saturday.
Hugs, Jeanne

The pink ornaments - just gorgeous. Love the wrapping, too. I also worked in my booth this week - just a tiny bit of decorating but a boatload of ironing linens! It's so crazy - my husband doesn't want his tables all covered up but when I load it up with a million things - that's when they sell quick. Can't wait to see your house all decked out. xoxo Nancy

Oh my gosh, I am just drooling! I have some vintage pink ornaments, but I love the one with the Santa scene! As I was looking at them ever so closely I thought, "is that cupcake holders she has put them in?" Sure enough, how clever is that? Love the wrapping also. This is so darn cute, I think I would be tempted to leave them just like they are. I may just have to copy your sweet sister Debbie. Happy Pink Saturday.
p.s. Also excited for the upcoming linky party.

When I first married, in 1955, pink was a BIG color to decorate with...even pink appliances back then!! I had lots of those old pink ornaments...yes, they are so very fragile....some of mine did not survive time :0(
Have a HAPPY PINK SATURDAY and thanks

OOOOOH..I love your vintagey pink ornies!!! What a sweet gift!!! I have a tree full of vintage glass balls that I have collected for years. I have fine tuned my choices now to only buying ones that have writing and or a scene on them....like the gorgeous one in the upper right corner of your box. I think I have that...but probably in another color. I haven't pulled anything out yet. I had my sale this weekend, so I've spent a lot of time preparing for that, then yesterday was spent at our sons helping my very pregnant DIL put finishing touches on their decorating. Today, I have to go to the store....we're out of everything and also squeeze in some shopping for the grands. I have a feeling the newest wee one will be arriving very soon. His due date is the end of Dec., but his mama looks very ready! :) It will be a will Christmas this year.....and I am not even close to being ready, but I shall roll with the punches and be grateful for our new addition!! :)

I'm glad you're booth is doing so well!!! Sure wish I could be there to see it in person.

Gotta scoot. Have a great week....and hope your PS was awesome!!

L, Dana
