Stuck On A Broomstick

I've been on a broomstick for a long time, so I figured it's about high time I had a Halloween party to celebrate my exceptional powers! :) Been flying all over gathering & hunting for this All Hallow's Eve soiree.  Elegance is invited along with fun and whimsy.   Skeletons hanging from the chandeliers and fancy rats running around. Using my favorite colors of black and white, the invitations have been designed.  Oh how I wish each and everyone of you could come.  If you live nearby you are welcome.   If not, won't you join me right here as I start the decorating?

Suddenly there came a tapping @ my chamber's door ____ darkness there and nothing more _____ the bird above said "nevermore" ____

Oh yeah, I'm tapping my feet as.....Thriller and the Monster Mash blare from the box and I glitter and paste and cut and sew. Costumes optional, but dare to come as something other than your usual everyday self, .....

mostly embracing the quiet neutrals of Fall in the decor, using old silver and faded blacks, creamy and worn ruffly whites, and the beautiful faded browns of the corn stalk leaves and allowing only the color in the party food (you do like worms, don't you?) to grace the table

along with her friends and Krylon, KariAnne of Thistlewood Farm has issued a challenge to create or recreate something using my forever friend, spray paint.  Yep....it's a spray paint party!  So getting ready for my own party, I have been spraying away.  :)  This old grape vine wreath has been serving as a bird nest at my booth but now it's a necklace for the soft green of the curly kale, sprayed with just a hint of pure white Krylon paint

what's a girl to do when she needs a certain size pumpkin and all she can find is orange.....uh huh!...spray paint to the rescue! (yes....it's a honest to goodness real pumpkin)

and the finished project that will grace the side porch for this soiree

even the old cement grape pot received a whispered spray of the paint

:)  Now, if you'll excuse me.......there's some acorns calling my name and a porch rug to paint and a certain witch's hat to fluff and a knarly table runner to make from a shower curtain  :)

What fabulously healthy and beautiful kale!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the way you have created this arrangement with the vine "nest." I will be the first to admit that spray paint is not my friend. I have no patience for it! I know, I know...it's "easy" to use. I just can't make it work for me the way you have here. The pumpkin looks great...almost just kind of "dusted." Very pretty!

I love that you left some of the orange to peek through and placed in the center of the plant - too cute. Thanks so much for sharing at our link party. Take care, Laura

HPS, Lynn!! Your party is bound to be awesome! I love all you shared with us! We had one last year...and I'm thinking about doing it again this year. It wasn't nearly as neat as yours, but it sure was fun.

I'm sorry I haven't been visiting lately...so much STUFF going on..and not good stuff either. Just stuff. I'm sure hoping 2013 brings some great changes.

Have a good weekend and spray away!!

What we would ever do without spray paint! Love the way you lightly painted the pumpkin and it looks sp pretty nestled among the cabbage leaves!
I knew the writer of Monster Mash. Gary Paxton. He was just a year ahead of me in high school in Tucson. I always loved that song! He was quite the character!
HPS! Happy Fall!
