Not talking about the Thanksgiving dinner leftovers today, although I look forward to those as much as the meal itself. I am speaking of all the photos and other notes/ideas I jotted down for October blog posts and never got to them. So here's a little wrap up. :)

Are these the coolest looking things ever?  They look like little baby pumpkins don't they?  About 2" in size they start out as little green orbs and in the fall turn to brilliant orange.  I bought a stem last Fall in the grocery store and saved the seeds.  Planted in a pot this Spring and this is what I got.  They are actually an ornamental eggplant and used in Asian dishes.  Also called Pumpkin on a Stick and are gorgeous to use in floral arrangements.  I plan to use my at Thanksgiving. **If you plant some, be careful.  They have some pretty lethal thorns on them...growing right on the leaves.  If you look closely, you can see the thorns on the leaf in the foreground.

This is a little corner of my sister's home. Isn't it pretty? That vintage French white chair with gray upholstery, I did for her.  The gorgeous orange toile pillow we picked up on a girl's trip to Luckett's.  Love the orange with the vintage style aqua vase!  She likes to mix the "old with the new" just like I do.

Now, I know I talk all the time about how much I love white pumpkins but I do love the traditional orange too....very much.  Took Mom on an outing to a fabulous greenhouse around here.  I just wandered around snapping pictures all over the place.  Mom just can't figure out why I take pictures of signs. :)

Remember I told you about all the little succulents aka Hen & Chicks I purchased at a yard sale.  These are the last of them and I have something special in mind for them.  A memento for some very special people for a very special event. :)

I just bought myself some new gardening shoes for muddy work.  We had a hard frost last night which pretty much got the last of my blooming flowers so they will come in handy this weekend when we winterize the gardens.

I did a post about how huge the white wedding mums I planted late last summer had gotten.  I am so proud of them.  Picked a huge bouquet for the family room with one little orange zinnia.

I told you about my neighbor's new green house and how I will get to take care of the plants this winter while she is away in CA.  She asked for some cuttings from my azaleas to start.  I snipped these for her.  I don't remember the names of a lot of the plants, so I just labeled them as "the big pink blooms by the walkway".  LOL

I have been super busy lately, stocking my website with some new "old" items.  Just listed this necklace I created from a large metal flower with rhinestones, vintage ribbon and old lace, and some other fun.  A fresh take on vintage and I hope you will check them out. :)
And last, but not least, I am joining in today on 30 Thirty Days of Gratitude over at the blog Dogs Don't Eat Pizza (don't you love that name?)  Check it out. It's on my sidebar.  I don't post every day so I am listing my together:

         heart that woke me

I love catching up with you, Lynn! So, you are now putting that wonderful garden of yours to bed? I never really did much of a clean up and skipped planting more bulbs...I will be so sorry next year!

Love the chair you did for your sister and what exciting news that you will be caring for a greenhouse this winter. That should be fun!

I'm glad all is well with you. Hope you are well on your way with your Thanksgiving plans!

I enjoyed all your left-over photos :) Very cute how you labeled your azaleas. It actually it probably way more useful than the real names.

The tags on your cuttings are the cutest! Very creative. ;-) You have really been enjoying the fall.... I love your festive spirit. The pumpkins on a stick are too pretty. They look similar to something Pottery Barn was selling this fall, except they dried them for arrangements and were $15-20/bag! They will be pretty for Thanksgiving.

Enjoy your week!

Lynn, I am VERY grateful that the election commercials have ended. I hope Steve remembered to bring the plants inside before the frost. Don't hate me but it is 80 degrees here. Thanks for linking to my party and take care.

Love your leftovers! It was nice spending some time at your place and going along with you with your mom. Love your sister's room, too.
Baby sitting a green house? Sounds like a fun place to spend the winter. We have to finish things up outside here this weekend but its supposed to be 65 both days, so should make it easier being out there.
