I had a request........
to create a Christmas stocking for a very special someone. You see this very special person had never had a Christmas stocking before. Florence loves girly, pink, shabby, romantic, ruffly, and vintage and Florence is a very young 92 YEARS OLD. She's a girl after many of our own hearts......wouldn't you say? This is for you Florence and a very Merry Christmas!!! xo
A glittered "F" personalizes this special stocking
Vintage creamy pearls, an old reticulated holiday indent ornament, sparkly crystal pendants, a puffy worn gold heart and pink satin ribbons make a pretty tassel and speak romantic, sweet and girly
Created from vanilla puffed matelasse and a cuff of vintage blond mink, it's quite large, measuring over 2 feet long and a foot wide, insuring lots of room for many surprises come Christmas morn
Toe and heel are capped with pretty quilted rose themed fabric with an overlay of vintage soft pink and white crochet lace work, topped with a gorgeous layered rosette
I had the privilege of adding to the contents, one of which is this charming old doll, full of candy box charm with her old netting and flocked pastel flowers
And to truly make Florence queen for a day, I made her a tiara, covered in German glitter glass, already dimming with that beautiful dark patina of time
It was an honor to create something for such a special person and it's my wish this season that it may become an heirloom piece, passed down to her pretty grand-daughter and on :)
