Her: " look what I found today"
Him: "found?"
Her: "yeah....I've been looking for a new kitchen stool for a long time"
Him: "really?"
Her: "yes, I have been looking for one for over a year now, ever since "we" redid the downstairs last winter
Him: "But we have a stool already"
Her: " But not as cute as this"
Him: "You are going to repaint it ....right?"
Her: "Huh? You're kidding right? Look at that patina! And I think I'll leave the cute price tag on it too" :)
Him: long pause
chippy worn white
perfect faded worn red
Original old tag
Yep...this is where I'll sit peeling apples for that apple pie he requested and have the grand kids join me as their special seat in the kitchen ~~~ it's perfect!
When I got home from my treasure hunting, the mailman had left this for me. From the perfect rusty old worn patina under my bottom to the perfect silver and gold bling on my wrist. I won this fabulous leather snap bracelet over on Kathy's blog,

Why don't I ever find good things like that? That stool could go perfectly in my kitchen. :) Great find!
The red stool is wonderful and I wouldn't touch the pretty patina. Congrats on your win.

I love your stool, wow what a wonderful find, it goes so perfectly in the kitchen, you are lucky to have discovered it before it was too late for that little beauty..

What fun pieces, Lynn....from rusts to riches! xo Diana

Kathy, I like the stool. I have an old red one that was my MIL's and it's really beat up. I can't part with it, it was "mom's" and she was a wonderful person. Enjoy your weekend. Smiles, Susie
I love chippy and rusty--and bling too. Kitchen stools are the best and I'm so glad you like the bracelet. Thanks for the shout out.
Kathy
The stool is perfect-great patina.
My Nana had a stool like that but it had a two step unit that lifted up and out from beneath. I used to sit on it next to the mixer when she made chocolate chip cookys. I got to dump the chocolate chips into the bowl then lick the beaters. If I had her stool when my grandchildren dumped the chocolate chips into the bowl, they'd have had the same memory that I have. Enjoy your stool in all it's lovely glory :-)
It couldn't be more perfect!

Lynn,

Dear Lynn's Husband: It's a vintage thing! You know....VINTAGE!!! We could have 20 brand spanking new stools, but it wouldn't matter because this one if VINTAGE...and so cool!!!!!!!!!!! Painting it would make it....well, just another painted stool! And what't the fun in that??!?
hahaha...this conversation could have very easily happened in our home..every single word. Even the bling as contrast. hahaha.
Wow, that is the perfect stool....Paint it...Oh no, what do guy's know!

You have a new header, Lynn! I love it! And that stool is terrific. I remember something like it in our kitchen when I was small. And yes, it's perfect as is.
The bracelet is very sharp...I will pop over to Kathy's blog.
Happy Weekend! :)

That stool is amazing.
I laughed when you mentioned keeping the tag on. I just bought a great little chair and the tag is so cute I haven't removed it yet. I guess I'm not crazy. Or then again, maybe both of us are.
that is the perfect stool, I can see grand kids climbing all over it!! Great find!!
Lynn, have you been recording conversations at my house? That sounds just like me and my sweetheart! They just don't "get" the patina thing (or needing a cuter stool). What a great stool you found! Lucky girl. laurie
