Chandelier Birdhouse Condo

My last post was all about re-inventing and re-loving vintage decor in a new way.

Here's a another charming re-do that you may love to use in your garden.  The summer of 2011 we celebrated my youngest son's wedding with a big party in our back yard.  I found an old brass chandelier at a yard sale, painted it white, added tall candles and hung it in the old dogwood tree. Underneath was the table the bride and groom sat at during dinner.  As the night wore on and it got dark, the lit candles over the table were so romantic.  Such sweet memories but as romantic as it sounds, I know Bobby G. and I will never use this chandelier as it was intended  :)  So I decided another re-make was in order.

Hang a vintage chandelier birdhouse condominium in the old dogwood

As I write this post today, I can hear a glorious symphony of bird song.  A sweet little Carolina wren just hopped up next to my office door with a piece of moss in her beak.  Soon, I will discover where her nest is. :)

I found all these little birdhouses at a craft store some time ago, painted them white and "thatched" the roof with dried moss. The birds are picking at the moss for use in their tree nest but that's okay.  I love it!

The sweet little church is my favorite.

I hope this gives you some ideas for your own backyard.  Thank you for visiting today and I'll be back this weekend.  I am joining a couple of other bloggers in a wedding post. Wedding season is almost here. :) xoxo

OK, Lynn...I'm packing my bags right now and headed to live with you! WHAT A GORGEOUS BACK YARD!!! Oh, my gosh...with the water and all the land...SO pretty! This was the perfect place to hold a wedding reception!

I LOVE the birdhouse chandelier! What a creative thing for the Spring! I can just imagine a yard with these hanging from the branches above all the tables for almost any Spring or Summer event. I love the photograph with the Adirondack chair in the background. It really accentuates the birdhouses in the chandelier!

Lynn I was wondering how the faux rug on your deck is holding up? What type of paint did you use (oil or latex)and did you need to seal it from getting scratches? Would love to do this in Spring, if it ever actually gets to No.Indiana! Lori

Very cute, my friend! You know I'm crushing on those birdhouses, and it's genius to put them on a chandelier. SO cute!

I actually just sprayed the hubbies' 'chandelier' from this kitchen..{it was god awful brass!!}sprayed it a hammered brown {and the rest of the lights, toilet paper holder, towel rack etc...might as well while I had it out!!} But THIS....THIS is way gorgeous!!! I am glad I subscribed to keep on top off your craftiness!!!
