Dancing in Mid Air

I finally put my camera on "M" and the hummers let me close enough to snap a few photos. Not perfect but what fun I had.  I hope you enjoy the shots of these brilliant iridescent plumed creatures with their slender bills and vibrating wings that tickled me to no end as they buzzed me.  What a thrill nature gifted me early this a.m.!

Sizing me up......wondering if I'm friend or foe......

Decides I'm friendly and lands...............

She's thinking, "I know who you are.  You're the lady who keeps the pretty bottles filled with sweet water."    :)

Feeling safe now......she enjoys the delights of the feeder

And calling her friends in......they dance with happiness that there's a full feeder, the sun shines, and all is right with the world

And that's what I was doing early this morning.....taking pictures on a beautiful summer morning.  Switching subjects but staying outdoors, I meant to show this to you early in the Spring but life happened so I'm showing you now.  Last Fall I found this fabulous vintage enamel top  farm table with drawers.  Don't you just love the green?  I had been looking for a potting table for a long time and thought this filled the bill. It's in a covered protective spot to minimize weather wear. Just across from it, there's a small garden shed built on to the back of the house so I have a great place as a holding area and potting area.  Next Spring all of these pieces may go into a Vintage Home Market show so keep a look out.

the little blue Ohio Art watering can just listed in my shop

Is this a fun sign or what?  Found this at a green nursery that was going out of business.  The sign was on their little shed where you paid for your items and now it's on my shed and maybe on yours next season. :)
Have a wonderful week xo

Getting a hummingbird feeder (or making one) is on my 'to do list" every summer. I can't believe these photos -- how could you even stand still with those beautiful creatures hovering so close!? Simply amazing!! Thanks for sharing and I love love love that Ohio Art can (also on my list of 'wants'/needs!)

Great hummer shots. I am their humble slave here-making nectar , washing feeders continuously. We have about ten or twelve hummers this year.

Sweet Lynn...You are so lucky to find neat stuff. We don't even hardly have places in this backward town to look. I love the old sign. Now that's just to cool. I love the hummers. I saw one today with a gorgeous whit ring around his neck. His head was black. since Katrina, we get all kinds of strange birds. My Bill told me the storms blow them off course. We live in the woods and have plenty of feed out, so they stay and breed, I love it.
May God Bless,
Marie Antoinette
