A Winter Wedding

Dreaming

If I were getting married all over again  (to Bobby G. of course) I would definitely think long and hard about having a winter wedding....a December bride. Where everything would be silver and white and glittery and I would wear a long white cape with a fur lined hood  and....................

and carry a white fur muff  with just a simple sprig of cedar and a vintage rhinestone brooch on it......

I would carry a sweet vintage cream beaded wristlet purse to keep my old lacy hankie in and a lipstick.....

and wear a pretty pearl tiara in my hair.......

And use a beautiful old feather pen for my guest to sign the wedding book..

And I'd collect vintage beaded safety pin baskets and arrange one in the middle of each table filled with simple dark green holly leaves......

And serve dinner on shimmering snowflake chargers.......
(available at dollar stores 2012)

And give my special guest hand made white feathered angel wings favors...

and then I'd wake up and worry myself to death about winter snowstorms and stranded guests and the caterer not able to get to the wedding venue and it's too close to Christmas and on and on and on......and then change my mind and have a summer wedding instead......maybe :)

All vintage items in my dream are available in The Vintage Nest shop

And what the heck does a winter bride dressed in a beautiful fur hooded floor length off white cape riding in a white horse drawn carriage snuggled next to her beloved on a dark crystal clear starry night have to do with this "Lynn is acting silly photo"?  Well....actually nothing, but I just had to tell about the most delightful lady who loves vintage like I do.  We met through face book and got together for a day of hunting and lunch and had the BEST time. She took this photo of me when we were looking for a particular piece of furniture for her and of course I was happy to spend "her" money.  Mary has just recently started her blog, which is delightful as she is.  Please visit and tell her Lynn sent you.  xoxoxo

I got married in December! I'd like to do it over again with my tastes as a 50 year old instead of a 22 year old in the 80's! lol....Oh, it was still beautiful. I did love that month to get married in....such a nice change from all the summer weddings.

I got married the first day of November and it was great. Loved the post. I will be following Mary also.
Told her that I am coming to Virginia sometime in Fall and would love to meet up with you both. Will be staying in Roanoke but maybe we can meet half way. I love VA as I was born there and I try to go home every couple of years, when I am able. This year I am going come hell or high water lol. It's a long way from California.
Great post thanks for sharing. Love the table.

Yes, a December wedding sounds so romantic, but because I have a January birthday, your reasons NOT to do it then came immediately to mind! I don't like my birthday for those similar reasons! Love your items and your shop! Visiting from Amaze Me Monday!

We were married in early December in Philadelphia in 1995 and it was 52 degrees! We had a gorgeous day and the outside photo shoot was great! We then honeymooned in Ireland which was all done up for Christmas and was so beautiful and romantic. I wouldn't change a thing! Love the feathery wings and that great table.
