If you're a seeker or picker of fine mercantile like me, you are willing to wait for that piece you need for your home, not totally necessary, but sure would be nice to have, or you didn't even know you needed it. :) We die hard treasure hunters, vintage lovers, thrifters, and flea market aficionados, will stop at every little interesting place we see on our travels, in hopes of finding something special that makes our home unique and reflects our personality.
If you're looking for instant gratification, don't expect to find it when you run out looking tomorrow. That's what big box stores are for. But, but.....trust me, eventually, with patience, you will find it and it will be perfect and you will love it.
Exactly one year ago, I penned a post about the mishap with our silk and linen fabric headboard and the fix was to cover it with "love", a heart to cover up the "oops". That post is here.
Ever since then, I have been on the lookout for a new head board, not actively looking, but always in the back of my mind. And then........just a few days before Christmas, I ran into a new consignment shop near my home. And there it was...... leaning against the window. I took measurements, rushed home, took more measurements, rushed back ..... and bought it.
The first thing Bobby G. said was, "we are going to paint this, right?" :)
It had such a French look to it......thick wood, carved flowers and flourishes, curves, caning, shabby and worn, and a simple creamy color..... I was in LOVE
His n' Hers are thrilled........cost $75.00.
So...if you need something, be patient, keep a list, and keep looking.....it's out there. :)

Lynn, Your new headboard looks wonderful and I love it! Of course I would because I have the same headboard in black. I have thought of painting it and now I know it looks wonderful painted white.

Lynn, it is perfect! I had to laugh about your DH asking if you were going to paint it. My carpenter had a fit years ago when I would not let him sand and stain an antique hatch door from an old boat that someone had since used as a garden gate and weathered to shabby perfection. My painter saved the day when they were about to sand it. He "got" it, but most men are like, "Huh? " Mr. Magpie gets it after I convince him. ;-).

I love it, Lynn. It is just perfect. Did you laugh when hubby asked about painting it? Men just don't "get it" on stuff like that.
Have a great night- xo Diana
I love it just the way it is. Perfect in the room. Great find. Yes, I totally agree about patience. Treasures always show up. Don't compromise.
I love it! I need to find one for my spare room that I have sitting empty and the moment!
It was meant to be yours. I love it, Lynn.♥
Blog Shop is open for linking. I hope you will come over and link some of your shop items.

Oh, this SO nice. Love it.Pinning. Linda
Tell Bobby G. to step away from the paintbrush, and nobody gets hurt! Paint it?!??!?!!! WHAT?!??!!!!!
It's gorgeous! Patience DOES pay off! I'm the same way. We went without a table in the eat-in part of our kitchen for nearly 2 years while I waited to find the perfect table & chairs. I was very happy when I FINALLY stumbled upon just what I had envisioned. Nothing wrong with waiting it out!
Good score! Congratulations, and enjoy it!!! And if Bobby G. comes anywhere within whispering distance of it with a can of paint, tell him we'll paint HIM and run him up a flag pole as a warning to other husbands with such silly notions running around in their pretty little heads! :-)
Lynn, it's gorgeous. Everything looks so pretty, and I need to learn your patience! LOL!
