Sharon of sweetvictorianrose.com paints the most gorgeous heart charms and buttons. How she paints her beautiful roses on those tiny little things I'll never know. What a talent! You must check her website out. Recently she pictured on her blog one of her charms that she was working on that featured a tiny little hummingbird which was my inspiration for today's blog. Every year on tax day, April 15th, is when I put my hummingbird feeders out. Within a few days I spot the scouts checking out my feeders and flowers. Then it seems they disappear for a while ... so I imagine they are out scouting other potential summer vacation spots.
They seem to like my home, so shortly they come back to nest and raise some babies. I hang several feeders along with several hanging baskets of deep pink petunias to attract them. The photo shows the feeder hanging at my kitchen window. Isn't that amazing? One day I was outside working on one of my projects, painting a kitchen stool. I had the stool placed upside down while I was painting the legs. A little hummer flew down and perched on one of the legs and just stared at me and I stared back, just mesmerized. He was no more than 8 inches from my face. I was totally enthralled. I know he stayed there for a good minute. When he flew off I ran inside and phoned everybody to tell them about this little creature that had made my day. When Labor Day comes all of sudden they are gone....having flown off to wherever they spend the winter. :))

Thank you for mentioning me Lynn but nothing I can paint compares to the natural beauty of these tiny little wonders of nature. Just look at those little wings, they are amazing.

Lynn, I just saw your post about the little shoes on my site. I can't believe you also collect them. I would love to see a picture of yours. I just think they are so sweet. Also, I love your totes. They are wonderful!

Aren't hummingbirds an absolute joy? It's so magical when they come down and connect with you, isn't it? Thank you for sharing your precious moment.
