For the Love of Old

Hello all my sweet chickadees. :) I got tagged by Michelle at I'm A Little Teapot to write my six word memoir. I have been seeing these all over blogland and thought they were wonderful....now it's my turn. It was hard but here's mine. My two sons and DH.

"You're the Wind beneath my Wings"

Boy do my kids know me! My youngest son and his best girl gave me for Christmas 2007 the most wonderful set of hard back books....all about old stuff and junking. His sweetie works for Ralph Lauren (Polo) in New York city. Specifically for Mary Randolph Carter who is the Vice-President of advertising at Polo. How she does her job and finds time to write these books is beyond me. Because not only does she write the books but all the photography is hers too. Dubbed as the "patron saint of bad, the chipped and the distressed." Like me, she loves rusty, chipped, frayed, mended, mossy, cracked, faded, patched, peeling, scuffed and faded. Three books are called Garden Junk, American Junk and Big City Junk. And another book is called For the Love of Old. I have enjoyed hours of pouring over these books and encourage you to find them too. Beeg, my son's bestest girl, took the time to have them autographed for me. I am forever grateful.

There's a new blogger I would love to have you visit. Tell her Lynn @ theVintageNest sent you. Her name is Theresa and she has the most delightful website called Cottage Violets. She claims her website has been taken over by four lovable rabbits. She presented me with this award. Thank you dear Theresa.

If you loved those sweet faux cupcakes as much as I did then scoot over to Garden Goose's blog. She has graciously pasted the "recipe" for these delights. I am going to make some but can't tell you for who here. :)

xo Lynn
