Some People

re SO creative. I met a blogger last week through her Etsy shop. I saw a tassel she made for another blogger and I immediately clicked over to her shop and placed an order. Rosie is just as sweet and delightful as the creations she makes. Her place is called Rosie's Whimsy. Rosie, the package came today (she shipped so fast). I sat right down on the front porch and opened it. I was thrilled. I love how you braided the hanger with the twine incorporated in it. And your presentation is fabulous. Thank You! And thank you for the extra goodie too. :) I hope you all will go visit Rosie's blog and shop and see her cute things. I wanted a tassel to hang from the key in the keyhole of my antique secretary. You might be able to see the waviness in the old glass in the photo. And if you look closely you can see the wing chair in the reflection of the glass. The wing chair is red floral with black and white check trim. That's why I got the black and white tassel....to match the chairs. And the sweet tassel adds that special whimsy to the room.

A couple of post earlier I whined about all the pollen. Thankfully it's almost all gone and Friday I decided it was time to tackle the job of cleaning off the three season sleeping porch. That's a job and a half....I tell you. We are on well water out here and the water pressure is not the greatest in the world.....so it takes forever to get the place washed down. First I have to haul all the furniture off the porch and wash down all the cushions.

After washing down everything and cleaning the walls and floors I dashed here to buy some ferns. It's our local feed and seed and equine center and I think everybody in the county was there on Friday.

I was on a mission to only get the porch ferns but I got distracted by the roses. Aren't they beautiful?

But I was good.....stuck to my guns....and only got the ferns. Besides it was on the calendar to go with my friend Cindy to buy plants and flowers and veggies on Monday. :) We plan on making a day of it.

By the time I got back home all the cushions had dried so it was time to haul everything back in on the porch. The two rocking chairs are my favorite place to sit on a nice day, have a cold drink and read one of my decorating magazines. It felt so good to get this job done. Whew! Is there a kindlier place than a porch?

I am excited to announce the latest pretties coming to the boutique. They will be listed on "The Glow Within" page at theVintageNest. These custom OOAK light switch covers are created using renditions of vintage Victorian themes along with vintage millinery and jewelry. Hopefully within two weeks they will be added. I keep forgetting to tell you if there is anything you may be interested in in the boutique I give a 10% discount to my blogging friends. Enjoy your day. xo Lynn

Your porch look so cool and airy. I'd like to screen ours in but the hubby says it would feel like being indoors. I'm working on him. Your tassels are cute. I love your acme ice cream bucket. someone should snatch that right up! hmm, where could I put it? It would make a lovely can to keep paint brushes in? hmm.

That tassel looks absolutely gorgeous hanging on your antique cupboard! I'll have to go check out Rosie's blog and see what other goodies she's offering!

I can't believe you had that much restraint at the nursery! This time of year I can't stand it because they get in all the new Spring flowers, roses, herbs...are they open on Sunday? :)

You porch is wonderful! You have so much space! That cute little wire cart is so sweet!

Hey Lynn, Isn't it terrible when you go to the gardening store for one thing and then enticed by another?? It happens to me all the time and I usually don't have good willpower either, not like you did.

Jenn Thorson said...

The wicker chair and the fern is just perfect-- how do you ever leave the chair to go blog? :)

I admire your willpower over the roses, too. I have a serious rose illness in that I see them, and I feel they all need to come home with me. I hardly have any room in my yard, but somehow each year a new rose hitch-hikes home. :)

Happy spring to you, and may the allergies be quelled soon!!
