Thinking Spot & So Excited

Hi All! I am so thrilled to finally be able to tell you about this. It was hard to keep my mouth shut all these months. :) Late last summer I was asked to be a contributor to Dianne Zweig's new book titled "Hot Cottage Collectibles for Vintage Style Homes". The book is in production now and will be ready for sale this Fall. If you would like you can click here which will take you directly to Amazon for preorder. I can't wait to get my hands on this book. I just love the cover. I am really excited to see what items of mine Dianne used. Thank you Dianne. I was honored to be asked and included.

We had such a good time on our recent trip. Boo has grown so much and is talking up a storm. What fun it was to be able to carry on a regular conversation with her and answer all her Why? questions. Christine she was truly fascinated by my Bella Colle egg and nest necklace. In the photo below we had been out in the yard blowing bubbles. Then she sat down on her "thinking spot" as she calls it. It's the stump of a tree surrounded with hostas and flowers.

One day we hopped on the train and went to the horse races. I don't know the first thing about horse racing so I place my bets on the name of the horse or if I like the jockey's silks. Not very technical but hey.....it won me a few dollars. :)

We had the best seat in the house to have lunch and study our racing booklets.

Riding the rails!

And they're off!

A yard long refreshment. Cheers!

One day K and I spent the day on the road, junkin' and antiquing. We had a blast!! And found some fabulous stuff. Boo has graduated to a big girl room now so we redecorated her room. It's a very special place now. Full of the past and the present, the old and the new. It's a place for make believe and secrets, ballerina tutus and feather boas, reading and quiet times. A Princess room for sure. J and K found that gorgeous old architectural piece some time ago and decided to make it the headboard for her bed. Since these photos were taken we also added a hanging crystal chandelier in the corner over the white wicker rocking chair and a pink and green rug at the foot of the bed.

K and I found the pink and white chest of drawers on our treasure hunt. Lucky us...it already had the crystal knobs on it. And at the same adorable shop we also found the charming Love chest.

At another cute shop we found that charming vintage old school desk with chair......... for $10.00. What a deal! I loved the teal color of it. Boo loves sitting there to do her art work. :) I went "shopping" in J's and K's basement and garage and found the cute purple beaded lampshade and the plate rack which we turned sideways to make a perfect hat rack.

And I also found lots of wonderful vintage treasures for you and the boutique. And be still my heart...... I found a fabulous antique Victorian Sunday Afternoon Painter roses painting. Do you know how hard it was to pack for the flight home with all this extra stuff? LOL...Us true junkers don't care. Where there's a will, there's a way. And just as soon as I unpack my suitcase I will start listing them.

Until next time.......have a great weekend y'all. xo Lynn

Well, welcome home and many, many congratulations. I know you must be so excited, and rightfully so.

Your trip sounds great, and your little Boo is gorgeous. She must feel like a real princess in her beautiful room.

Can't wait to see all of your pretties.

I don't know much about horse racing either, but I love it.

Yippie..you are back safe and sound. Is it weird to say I missed you? LOL
Boo is adorable and so is her room. I saw the little pink poodle on her big girl bed too. I even noticed she posted a comment :0)
I bet you are tickled pink on the upcoming book. It looks great and I love the concept. I am going to pre-order this one....Thanks for the info and CONGRATULATIONS!
I am off to the beach with hubby for a little R & R. this weekend.
I am anxious to see all your goodies though. I have been buying but not adding much to the site lately....June, & July will be a little less stressful around here.
Being off on Fridays this summer will give me time to work on my site too.
Of course I have to always bite off more then I can chew....I am signing my space rental papers Friday. I will be in Old Town Clovis again with all the antique shops I love. I found a space that is only $100 a month. I can sell my larger items there.
I love being able to rearrange and decorate my booth.
Welcome home Mother Hen !!

Hi Lynn! Just a speedy visit to say hello! I’ve been busy the whole last week and will be out in the next, so this is far less than your blog deserves… ;(( But I promise I’ll come back with more time after June 10th, at least…
However, to avoid leaving you empty hands, I published a last post on Marrakesh 2006 at Blogtrotter. ;))
