Best Wishes

I am often asked where does my inspiration come from on the custom gift tags I create for my Twisted Threads page on my e-boutique. Well....from everywhere is all I can say. From nature, from something I see, from something someone says, from thoughts when watching television or reading a book. The inspiration for these tags I created today came from a collection of vintage anniversary cards I found while treasure hunting. Most of these gorgeous old cards were from the 1940's and a few from the early 50's. They were all anniversary cards and nearly all featured pretty ribbons and satin and netting and fabulous flower graphics. There were even two Western Union telegrams with them. I plan on putting them up for sell in the boutique asap as they are so much fun to work with in your altered art creations. The card below is the one I took my inspiration from to create the gift tags below that.

I know you all are just dying to see my vegetable garden.....aren't cha? (grin) I thought so. Today I picked my first veggies (other than herbs) from the garden. Squash! I like to pick them while they are still small. Tonight I fried them up with just salt, pepper and flour and served them with marinated pork tenderloin and parslied potatoes. Yum!

I hope you all will mark your calendars for Cielo's Garden Party on Saturday, June 21st.....the first day of summer. I plan on participating but instead of showing you flowers in my gardens I plan on showing you elements in my garden. I am serving refreshments too so I hope you'll come. Here's a sneak peek. :)

Also don't forget Sky Watch Friday and something new is coming up. The fabulous Mary Kate over at La Vie Est Belle is hosting SSS or Shadow Shot Saturday or Sunday and it starts on Friday. LOL. Bloggers will be posting their favorite shadow photos. I have been having lots of internet connection problems so hopefully I'll see you again Friday or Saturday. For now .....xoxo Lynn

Container squash! WOW! You are a brave woman! Aren't you afraid the weight of all that squash come August or so will pull your porch off your house? Ha ha -- LOTS of experience with squash, and you cooked it just perfectly!

Your new gift tags are gorgeous, and you PERFECTLY summed up where inspiration comes from.

Lynn,You are seriusly punishing me here with these photos aren't you? Fresh squash for dinner from your own plant, in a container no less. Stop right now I say! Seriously I am on my third or so planting of beans that are now barely 2 inches high, tomatoes in the ground for a month have not budged one inch, and you tempt me with squash in a container!

HA! Sounds like you are living the high life and so deserve it. The tags are fantastic and can't wait to see more. Have a great weekend!
