A Christmas Fair

With all good intentions, I originally had planned to have you come along with me to my favorite antiquing place to see their annual Holiday Open House, not to mention the fabulous foods they always serve.....not your average cookies and punch affair I can tell you. I was giddy with the thought of showing you some pretty neat stuff and don't you know I got ready to snap the first photo and the darn camera battery was dead. I said, "oh shoot" so loud that several people turned to look at me. :) So change of plan. I'll just have my own fair and show you what Christmas items I have in the boutique on the Twisted Threads page. I have so much fun making custom gift tags. These tags are large and make a pretty sweet gift all by themselves. I use a lot of my antique post cards, copied, and then embellished with real pressed flowers, vintage seam binding, bits of old jewelry, bells, fur, feathers, glitter, German Dresden and just all kinds of things to make each tag unique. A lot of them have already sold and will be under someone's Christmas tree soon.

Another thing I have been making and just love, are paper flowers and roses (thanks to Miss Priss). These too look absolutely charming as a topper on a gift package. Some are made from tissue and others are made from vintage sheet music or old dictionary pages. Some I embellish and others I leave as is.

Thank you for stopping by today and thank you Kreative Karen of A Scrapbook of Inspiration for hosting this wonderful inspirational event. Click here for a whole list of participants. Before you go don't forget to get your plate of Christmas cookies I made just for you. They are my favorite holiday cookie.....wedding cookies. Bye now. I will see you over at Karen's.

Oh Lynn,
I love everything about paper, so this post is perfect!! So many times when the perfect photo was there for the taking, my camera would run out of batteries. I know how frustrating it can be, but sometimes those lovely events are a gift just for you to enjoy.

I love all of your ideas for paper creations for Christmas. I want to to to the Twisted Threads page and see your gift tags. Thank you for joining the Christmas Fair.

Hi Lynn,
I just visited your page on Twisted Threads, and your tags are lovely.

I know the feeling of seeing the perfect photo opportunity and having your camera not work. I always think that maybe it's just a nice opportunity to just sit back and enjoy the event.

Thank you for joining the Christmas Fair. I love your music.

You are preachin' to the choir about those darn camera batteries! It always happens when there is "something really important" to be photographed. I threaten to buy a second camera for "backup".
Your paper flowers are beautiful! I love the idea of the vintage paper and sheet music. We made those out of tissue when I was a small child. I may have to make some this season!

Don't you just hate it when your camera stops working at a critical moment? Last week, when John
Scneider came, my lens cover quit working suddenly and it wouldn't open.....bummer. Plumber Boy came in and saved the day with his fancy, dancy telephoto lens :)

All so pretty, Lynn! I've never made those Wedding Bell cookies before - they do look so pretty wrapped for gift-giving! =)

I had to change my blog again (most regretably I must add - I will email you sometime to explain why).

Hi Lynn! Oh my goodness, I've experienced the same dilema.. just when your ready to snap the photo, the batteries are dead! ugh! I would have loved to be there when you reacted to this! lol!

I adore your tags, and can see why they've sold out so fast! Gorgeous my dear... Your paper roses are beautiful, and if I can gush one more time.. your satin ribbon with your shop name printed on it is simply dreamy~
Happy Holidays!

To think I thought I was the only one who always has the dead camera battery...
These flowers are so neat, visions of fancy finery, custom tags, oh dear better hide the checkbook.

Now, seriously, a girl needs some cookies and I haven't had these in forever. So, be a pal and cough up that recipe for us Lynn!
