Bird on a Limb

Picked up this sweet vintage 'French in fashion' night stand and decided I liked it just as it was but free hand painted the sweet bird on the top.  Took the original drawer pulls off and replaced them with some gold tone pulls with a twig motif.  They were wayyyy too bright so I antiqued them.  I wanted a subtle tone on tone effect for the "bird on a limb".  I like the way it turned out.  Do you?  It went to the shop.  Finding stuff to redo and paint for the shop is fun.  Wish I had 48 hours in the day to work on all my found projects.  ~~~~ Update on the plumbing disaster and house redos'.  They are still working.  :)  Were here bright and early this morning.  Lordy, I can't wait to get my studio back but it will be a while yet. :) Have a great week!  xoxo

Love the bird on top! It adds so much character. I know what you mean by 48 hours in a day. My project pile is out of control.

Love the night stand - your artwork is wonderful! I love the little bird. I have a bunch of stuff that needs to be redone - sometimes I think I might get rid of it all and start fresh. Do you think I could keep it at a manageable level? Nah.

Love the little nightstand. I think the bird is the perfect, subtle little adornment! Nice job. Glad your plumbing/etc. is back in working order...and soon you will have your studio back! YAHHHH! xxoo Diana

What a great piece, Lynn! I love your freehanded bird! Your side table is very much like a small dresser I found - top shape, base shape, and the legs all look the same. I've got to paint it, but how nice to see it in a side table version!

Thanks for visiting my blog and your really nice comment! Between you and me Lynn, there are lots of things I did many years ago that people do and blog about now. Mine were pre-blogging days and pre-digital camera days!

Lynn, you are quite the artist! Great find! Hang in there with the plumbing, I hate having people in my house, I don't feel like I can do anything

The little hand painted bird is just the right touch! I'd buy that little chest up in a second.

Thanks for the great comment on finding the dress for your son's wedding. it is looming over me. I sort of found 2 dresses online and I may order them and return the one I don't like! I hope that there is an easy solution!
