A Pink To Have & To Hold

A double dose today.....a double sweet celebration on this gorgeous Saturday.  Stephanie is hosting her annual June Wedding Blog Party and as always, we have our Pink Saturday too.  Just too much F U N going on today.  For your double dip just click Here and Here, slip on your bow bedecked party shoes (or if you are like me...your fancy flip flops) and wear your most treasured accessory.....your beautiful smile!

On Mother's Day I was beyond thrilled to announce the upcoming wedding celebration of my son in September.

As the date approaches,  I'd love to show you a peek at what's going on behind the scenes out here on the farmette as we get ready for this happy occasion.    I kinda, sorta, know what I am doing.   But not quite!  :)  But I do know there will be a little flea market chic, a little Southern country pride, a little (lot) sweet romance, a little organic flavor, a little vintage charm (well a lot on that one too) and maybe even an old tractor to point the way to the pasture parking :) And a whole lotta FUN!

And if this gorgeous piece that's in The Vintage Nest shop doesn't sell by then it may become part of the celebration decor too.  A vintage wedding veil.  Isn't it absolutely charming?   Throughout history brides have woven fresh flowers and leaves into a wreath shape as an adornment to their wedding finery.  Orange blossoms, with their delicious scent, were a symbol of purity, chastity and innocence.  This old piece has faded to a gorgeous worn patina and I think perfect for a country or garden wedding.  Tuck a few seashells in it and it's perfect for a beach wedding too.

I also found this gorgeous intricately hand made crocheted sweater/coverup one day while on my treasure hunts. Also available in the shop, in my mind, this just says over and over again....".wear me on your special day."   Whoever made this fabulous anthro chic piece was a romantic soul for sure.   It's delicate cream and pink color and the sweet ruffled sleeves are the epitome of country chic.  Perfect to toss over her shoulders as the sun sets on her perfect day.

I do hope you will stop over at Angelic Accents and How Sweet the Sound was a whole weekend's worth of inspiration.  Have a wonderful weekend. And as always.........xoxo

Lynn, I hope you ENJOY these last few sometimes-frantic weeks before your daughter's wedding. If the vintage Battenburg cloth over the hay bale is any indication, you've found just the right combination of style! Her special day is going to be perfect!

Oh Lynn, what a beautiful and fun wedding that will be! I'll be watching. ;-)

I wish we had the space here to have the reception at our house -- but with only 3/4 of an acre, that wasn't going to work, AND I have a dread of downpours on special days.

On our bride's graduation from college party day, I had tents, tables, chairs and hundreds of college-color balloons on the grass ... and it POURED RAIN and we ended up with more than 80 people in our house.

It was great fun, but everyone ended up muddy, including the dogs and the house -- and I am not sure I could handle that on a wedding day. You are brave and I salute you!

Did you visit Hartwood Roses? Connie's daughter was married on their rose farm this past weekend -- just beautiful!

Oh how fun! There are so many wonderful ideas for weddings nowadays - I could spend hours online looking at wedding stuff. My daughter isn't married yet, but when she does, I hope to be involved in helping (if she'll let me..) Enjoyed my visit today, Lynn. My etsy shop has been doing well up until the summer months - gotten a little slow - I guess everyone is spending more time away from the computer! Enjoy the wedding - September is the best month for weddings in my opinion.

Oh Lynn
Congratulations to your "hunky" son and "beautiful" bride to be on their Sept. wedding.
I know you will make it the most treasured wedding of the year. You just know how to do those sort of things.
It's funny I think I actually dreamt of you last night. We were walking down a long narrow street? and low and behold you came to see me, weird huh?
Nice to see you again.
Hope your weather is better than ours. Rain and cool.
Trying so hard to get things done outside before my bloggy girls come in July.
Love You

LOVE the lace on the hay bales, Lynn. I can't wait to see more!! And your porch is sweet. I'm sure it's frustrating waiting on the painters to finish so you can "fluff". But I'm sure the end result will be gorgeous!

Blessings... Polly
