On the Road Again

It's that time of the year again. I checked Craigslist Thursday night and there was finally a yard sale listed in my area....only one.....but that was all I needed.  :) I have been itching to get on the road! Don't you love this sign?  A local church down the road uses this for their sales.

So Saturday morning I was out bright and early.  No sooner had I pulled out of the lane, I ran across another sale.  No luck at this one, but fun to look around and I met a neighbor. :)  Traveling down the road a bit more, I ran across two more.   Found something for Bobby G. that he can use on the trailer..... 2 bucks and he loved it.  Finally, hit the listed yard sale....antiques and vintage!  I was a happy camper.  The two young guys running it said people had shown up at 6 a.m. and it was listed to start at 9 a.m.  They were almost wiped out by the time I got there but I did get some sweet buys. One more unadvertised sale and a run to an antique shop I don't frequent too often and I did good! :)

Is the not the most charming vintage painting?.......geraniums.  How sweet would this be in a garden room or on a screened in porch?  Or in a sunny kitchen.

Can't get enough of sweet vintage baby shoes. Mrs. Day's Ideal leather baby shoes .... from the 1940's-50's.  Love that adorable tiny scalloped edging on the top and tongue.

Wonderful old flower frog.  These are used in the bottom of a vase to hold gangly flower stems upright.  Love the rusty patina of this one.
Numbers are so much fun to use in home decor as well as old signs.  Combined, you have a generous sprinkling of charm.  This is a vintage rural road route marker.  Glorious patina and rust bits.

Loving this pile of vintage jewelry I found in a shoe box with other bits and odds and ends.  I use pieces like this on my journals and re-loved vintage necklaces.  All these found treasures will be going on my website this week.  :)

Kris, over at that charming blog, Junk Chic Cottage, had a give-away not too long ago and I was a lucky winner.  She was giving away something that I coveted and so need on my hunts.  A junkin', antiquin', flea marketin', yard salin', road trip survival kit.  It's just fabulous and look at that glam tote all this great stuff came in.  She decorates the totes herself and not only is it a wonderful thing to have in your trunk, it matches my car perfectly. Even matches my umbrella.  I am so stylin' now!

Check it out!  There's trash bags, a brush, hand wipes and sanitizer, a first aid kit, flash light, sewing kit, manicure kit, rain cover, bungee cords, pens and notepad, measuring tape, lint brush, a plastic shower curtain for the trunk floor (awesome idea) and so much more..  And check out the glam nail files!  :) I hope you get to visit Kim here.  She has such a pretty blog, a charming home and she shares so much. Thank you Kim for your generous give-away.  Oh yeah, did you notice that fabulous antique green trunk in my trunk?  My find of the day!  Once I get it cleaned up, I can't wait to show you the inside.  It's so unusual.
Have a fabulous week!  xoxo

I can tell you had a great day! Your excitement got to me and I think I'm going to pick up a local paper next Thursday and start marking my route. I've missed those days. That painting would be great above my potting shelf in the shed...I love geraniums.

Good for you on your win! That's a nice bunch of stuff to keep in your truck. Kris is very sweet...I love her blog.

Have a great week, Lynn!

Lynn, The painting is so pretty and what a great bag you won. Garage Sales are held year round here but I haven't had much luck finding great things. Thanks for linking to the Open House party.

My favorite is the road marker.

I have never been much for yard sales, but everyone shows off their great finds so I guess I need to get out there and find some great things myself.

Great finds, Lynn! I'm looking forward to a community garage sale here the first weekend in May. I'm hoping to find lots of goodies. I hit a yard sale the other day on the spur of the moment when I saw a sign. It was not as "huge" as advertised and I came away with nothing, but I know if I hadn't gone I would have been wondering about it all day!
