Company's Coming & My New Favorite Tool

There's nothing like having company coming that pushes you to get things done you have been putting off.  I have been a busy little bee this week working through a list a mile long, both inside and out.  One of those things was recovering the deck patio chair seats and cushion.  I bought the fabric  several months ago and it has been sitting on the dining room table ever since .  I finally got the job done yesterday and in no time at all with the help of a handy little tool I discovered.  If you are like me, I would pull and tug on old staples with a screwdriver and pliers trying to remove the old coverings.  I also do a lot of make-overs on furniture and this piece is a real time saver.  It's an upholstery staple remover.  Who knew there was such a thing and why I am only just discovering this tool?  It worked beautifully for me every time, was comfortable to hold, easy on my wrist and inexpensive.  I ordered mine on line.

This is the fabric I chose.  A simple gray and white screen print that matches the color of the house and faux painted rug on the deck.  A couple of years ago, when I last re-did the cushions, I chose a bright, happy print of fish.  This time I went much more subtle.

I am very happy with the way they turned out and just love this new tool.  And I now have #7 checked off the list!    xoxo  Looking forward to having you visit and I love comments.  Don't forget the Share Your Style blog party on Thursday.

OMGosh I could have so used this tool when I reupholstered the seats of my kitchen chairs. I was doing the old "yank 'em out with the flat head screw driver" routine as I pulled off the old fabric. Love your new fabric pattern Lynn...so pretty. Your project came out wonderful!

Gonna get me a gadget just like that. Always good to hear how we can make the job we do a little easier on the hands.
